Do you think some fundamentalists voted for Obama to hasten the end of the world?

I was shocked, but then I remembered they support Israel to hasten end times at Megiddo or something. Well, wouldn’t it seem reasonable to think some might think electing Obama would serve that purpose?

I doubt they would do that. However, as can plainly be seen, a vote for Obama certainly has brought the end of the USA, and therefore the rest of the world, to the edge of extinction.

:rotfl: Somehow, that seems too…well…“advanced” a concept (i.e. “false flag op”). Knowing human nature (i.e. most folks have a strong sense of self-preservation), I doubt people would go that far, even if they DID want to hasten The 2nd Coming. Interesting thought, tho…🙂

hello my friend. i know your being kinda sarcastic here. we could have done alot worse than obama. i didnt vote for him, but compared to some previous administrations hes not the worst ive seen. also it looks like his policies are going to be stuck come november. so the end of the U.S. is not yet. weve survived worse from both sides. Peace 🙂

Very few, I’m sure. I also post on a fundamentalist board (mostly IFB), and nobody at all has advocated that or admitted to doing that.

So you believe that Israel is supported only to bring the second coming and the tribulation? Or do you think Israel is a villain nation and there could be no other reason possible to support them?

Would not these folks who are trying to forecast the end of the world, hasten its occurrence, position or support individuals, policies, industries or whatever to accomplish that end. Be the same ones who accuse us of dabbling in sorcery, witchcraft, necromancy, and divination - activities the Bible strongly condemns (Leviticus 20:27; Deuteronomy 18:10-13) when we pray to the Blessed Mother or the Angels and Saints? Curious indeed.

I’m sure that Obama didn’t do very well with fundamentalists. However, he did nicely with Catholics*…“Catholics, who accounted for about a quarter of the electorate, supported Obama, at 54 percent, over McCain, at 45 percent.”*

This from cathnews.com/article.aspx?aeid=9996

Have no idea how reliable this source is but it is consistant with other stories I have heard.

That’s why I said I was shocked. We are in the true Church and the Holy Spirit will bounce it back, but we’ve been suffering an identity crisis for 50 years, where we tossed out most of our Catholic culture and effective theology, pastoral or otherwise, and so I credit the fundies for picking up the slack in those decades in the area of politics and social policy. Unfortunately, the fallacy of divorce and remarriage exposed itself once a strong family system, maintained by more tight small towns, broke down, thus allowing contraception to do its worse to families (and thus, society) and gays to point at our alternative families of broken and alternative families as reason to get a piece of the marriage pie.

No more than… ten? Perhaps?

I don’t see how electing President Obama aids to that end. The end comes at God’s choosing. If he wants it to come with a Republican in office, it’ll come with a Republican in office.

i don’t agree
the end of the USA is just the end of the USA. the rest of the world will continue to move on

many world empires have fallen, Britain, Rome, etc. the world didn’t end then, it won’t when the US takes its turn

I wasn’t aware of fundamentalists supporting Obama in any large numbers? Most fundamentalists I know follow Sarah Palin around in adoration and jubilation yielding her as the second coming? :p:D

wow! something i finally agree with the fundys on! I like sarah palin too;) if we are in agreement on something…maybe the world is coming to an end!:bigyikes: just kidding about the world ending folks. relax… Peace 🙂

I said some, not most. I wonder if some had thought of that. I hope I gave no one any ideas. LOL Also, their supporting Israel doesn’t have to be to speed up end times, but I’ve heard there are those that think that’ll do it.

That’s what political liberal and extremely religious Jews say because they can’t explain Christian support of Israel and other Jews to themselves any other way.

I tell you I would nor be a bit surprised

I was **not **being sarcastic.

Also, turn on your spelling checker.

Oh brother. Why the needless speculation? Just go to any evangelicals for Israel board and they’ll tell you why they support Israel. Fer cryin’ out loud. You’d think few people knew how to use the interwebs.

Finally, I know of no Evangelicals who want to speed up the Second Coming. If anything, Evangelicals will quote the Bible and that it clearly states that only the Father knows when it will happen and Jesus gave specific examples that would signal its coming. Man is not in charge of such an event, only God is. Jesus also spoke of everything, every jot and tittle, being fulfilled.

Sheesh!

God bless,
Ed

If they knew it was happening, they wouldn’t want to speed it up, because that would be futile.

Bush jr. was doing a fine job of leading the world to ruin. Obama is cleaning up the mess.
