Do you think that the church will ever accept gay marriage?

Good observation. Heck, back in the 60’s and 70’s it was old fashioned and out of date to want to get married! As the song goes, why be tied by ink that has dried upon some line?
are you a christian?

Doesn’t it seem mostly likely that Catholic objections to homosexuality will just fade into cultural irrelevance, much like their teaching on divorce and contraception (which has already been mentioned)? What difference does it make what the leadership is saying when very few, even amongst their own membership, abide by it?

Divorce became even more widely available legal option beginning about 40yrs ago, with the arrival of no-fault divorce. No one thinks twice about it now.
you are Muslim? do muslims support gay sex ect?

Any children yet, that is the primary benefit

No, children are not the primary benefit. This weak argument is what will ultimately cause many people to start siding with the gays.

I can give a specific example to prove my point. I attended a Catholic wedding ceremony. The groom was a Catholic widower in his 80s and the bride was a Catholic widow in her 80s. Trust me, no one thought their marraige was going to be producing children. The primary benefit is the unitive benefit that results from sexual complementarity with or without children. If that were not so this couple would not have been able to have a Catholic wedding.

So, it is not about whether gays can produce children; many heterosexuals cannot produce children. It is about sexual complementarity.
so let me get this straight, you support an active gay lifestyle? you know the sex part:eek: clearly Catholic teaching/catechism does not, are you in opposition to the Holy see?

Keep arguing like this and all those 20-somethings and 30- and 40-somethings are going to vote for gay marriage.
I was not arguing, I was informing you and the OP, and another poster of catholic teaching
It’s impossible for an 80 year old woman to get pregnant. Therefore a completed act of coitus between two 80 year old people cannot possibly be “oriented toward children.”
If you have arguments with the Church take it up with the Church. Before you do you may want to understand that “oriented toward children” means just that. Whether pregnancy results is not the issue, whether the marriage achieves the requirement necessary to do that is a different thing. The church teaches that an act of relations( or coitus if you like ) is a requirement of marriage, and without it an annulment remains a standing option.

I think Abraham and Sarah might disagree. 😉

have you considered converting to the episcopal gay version of their church? we are not to hate gays or anyone else however we should not accept sin.
lol, I will consider “converting to the episcopal gay version of their church.” With lines like that, I can only imagine that you do in fact hate gays.

this is lame, the authenticity is in question…come on:shrug:
Yes…also consider that the previous (and verified) record is 67…13 years younger than this unconfirmed one.

Either way, once a woman has gone through menopause it is biologically impossible for her to have a baby.

You really need to learn the difference between individuals making mistakes or committing sins and the Church as an entity.

The Church, the Pope and the Magusterium, cannot err in teaching Faith or Morals.

Individuals can make mistakes, the Church does not teach doctrinally in areas that are not of Faith or Morals.
very well put…huzza! why do some fail to see the difference? do you think I would have any luck shopping for another chrisitan religion that is pure and free of sin? me thinks not:eek:

The difference is that the Catholic church seems to be the only church that states that the Holy Spirit guides them so they cannot err.

No pope has ever gone against the Bible, not even most corrupt ones. In the Good Book, it is clearly stated that homophilia is evil, both in the Old and New Testaments. There can be no “reinterpretation.”
excellent!

by artificial means she conceived at 67 and was widely panned for being ridiculous…like you

are you a protestant? just here to stir the pot? your right! they are the “only church”🙂

“did Jesus have siblings” read your previous post…mostly associated with anger and distrust of The Holy Catholic church, are you angry? If you do not care for Catholics then maybe you should find peace elsewhere…I hope you find peace.and I am sorry I called you ridiculous, you quote only part of news articles to your advantage?
