Do you wear any Holy medals or a scapular?

I wear the scapular and a crucifix and a miraculous medal. I guess God inspired me to wear the crucifix and the BVM inspired me to wear both the scapular and the miraculous medal.

On a necklace I wear a Miraculous Medal, a 4-way cross, and a Holy Spirit medal. I also wear a rosary bracelet that has a mini crucifix and mini MM.

I wear a brown scapular, miraculous medal, and a Saint Benedict medal. I wear the brown scapular and the miraculous medal because I love the Blessed Virgin Mary and I wear the Saint Benedict Medal because it’s known to be a powerful spiritual warfare sacramental.

I wear the brown scapular. A lady at church gave me a Miraculous Medal and I always wanted one so I attached it to the scapular.

I wear a crucifix, my patron saint medal, St Louise de Marillac, and a Miraculous medal all on one chain around my neck. I wear them 24/7 unless I’m made to take them off at the airport or for a medical procedure that calls for it to be removed.

I’ve worn a brown scapular for about the last 35 years pretty much, and with a miraculous medal attached when it stays attached 😄

I wear a brown scapular. It was just something that caught my eye when I was first awakened to the faith. A couple of years later I decided to read up on it & find out what it means. I was enrolled then.

Last year I learned about the lay Carmelites through a local group that meets at the parish I joined the year before.

Next month I’ll be received into the group. I’ll be a Lay Carmelite.

I do wear the brown scapular, however it should be stressed this does not waive us from doing our best to be faithful to our Catholic Church teachings and instructions.

I was inspired to use it, after learning that it was given by our Blessed Mother, as a symbol of protection to the Carmelites.

Thanks for replying - still not clear though, how do you enrolling intros, does each scapular have a separate enrolment, and are there daily prayers/ responsibilities/duties attached?

Thanks for helping to clear up my questions!

I wear a small crucifix and my late mom"s Marian medal, a combined miraculous and scapular medal.

Each enrollment of these three, has the obligation of daily prayers and also one should support the confraternity with a donation periodically. I enrolled in three (write to each for instructions) and a priest blessed my scapular. Each sent me a scapular (1 white, 1 black, 1 blue) and the Marians also sent me a scapular medal:
  • Third Order of the Most Holy Trinity, Spiritual Membership
  • The Servite Confraternity of Our Lady of Sorrows
  • The Confraternity of the Immaculate Conception of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary
I was already invested in the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Confraternity and daily say a particular prayer.

I have the contact information for these three in the USA.
Prayer To The Blessed Virgin of Mt. Carmel:
Most blessed and immaculate Virgin, ornament and splendor of Mount Carmel,
thou who regardest with particular goodness those who wear thy scapular,
benignly look upon me also, and cover me with the mantle of thy maternal protection.
Fortify my weakness with thy strength,
illuminate the darkness of my mind with thy wisdom,
increase Faith, Hope and Charity within me,
adorn my soul with such graces and virtues that it may be always precious to thee and thy divine Son;
assist me in life, console me at the hour of death with thy most loving presence
and present me to the most august Trinity as thy son and devout servant,
to eternally praise and bless thee in heaven.
Amen.

I wear mine in a cluster, on dog tag chain (God tags), my all-star lineup of Saints consists of St. Padre Pio, St. Michael the Archangel, St. Faustina, Miraculous Medal, Saint Anthony of Padua, St. Francis of Assisi, Virgin of Carmel, St. Pope John Paul, II, St. Joseph, Holy Family.

I wear a crucifix on a separate chain, and a woolen brown scapular with Our Lady of Guadalupe, and Saint Jude. I don’t flaunt anything. I collected all of the medals over time at a nearby Carmelite Shrine, as the Spirit moved me.

I wear a Miraculous Medal. When I became Catholic, I wanted to get the “most Catholic” Catholic medal I could find. That turned out to be the MM with the reverse side design shrunk down smaller and surrounded by the entire Hail Mary prayer. With that, I think I achieved my goal of a very Catholic medal! I also wear a St. Francis de Sales medal—just somebody I read about and liked.

Someone once told me that you can often tell when a Catholic walks in the room because they tend to jingle. I thought that was funny. I’ve also seen some truth to it. We can amass quite a collection can’t we? 😁

I wear holy medals on a scapular 😁 St. Benedict, Miraculous Medal, Holy Face. Then some other items, ex. small crucifix, but not attached to the Scapular.

Not every day. When serving at Mass and other celebrations I normally wear the bronze medal of the Archconfraternity of St. Stephen. I was awarded the gold medal for being a member of the Archconfraternity for 50 years, but that only comes out of the safe at Christmas, Easter and other special occasions. The scrap value is about £800 and if I wore it regularly, I might get mugged by the deacons.

Used to/tried to.
Constantly got torn off in the activity of everyday life, or forgotten to be put back on after the shower, or got torn off during sleep.

I have more loose medals/scaps than i need and i just don’t like wearing jewellery of any description. I don’t even like having to carry my phone with me…

I’ve worn a gold crucifix since I was a teenager. It has a lot of sentimental value, since it’s from my grandma, who first taught me how to pray when I was a toddler, and I distinctly remember that I was already aware of the presence of God at an early age — the intuition of an omnipresent, transcendent Person, if I articulate it now (and I didn’t confuse Him with Santa Claus, although I believed in him too for a little while). I also wear a medal from a confraternity that I joined, and sometimes a rosary bracelet. I used to wear a brown scapular but was never formally invested in it.
