Doctor in SA punished with 70 lashes once a week.

The drs punishment does strike me as excessive. Why not simply take away his license or his ability to work in Saudi Arabia?:confused:

I wonder why the princess isn’t getting any lashes also?

I don’ t want either the dr or princess to get lashes, I just wondered at the logic of punishing only the dr.

I feel so sorry for that poor doctor!! I doubt he will even be able to live out his entire sentence, if he is being flogged every week he will die before long. :signofcross:
 
The Qur’an, the Hadith, Muhammad, Islam–all these things predate, by centuries, “Saudi Arabia.”

Instead of trying to blame Islam for this situation, Sam, why don’t you own up that it’s really just corruption in the Saudi legal and court system?

  1. Sam was born Muslim - he should know better than you do.
  2. It’s not only the Saudi judges who are psychopaths - it seems that the Muslim world is trying to outdo itself in proving that as a whole they are cruel, sadistic, murderous monsters who believe in a “religion” which came straight from hell through the devil himself and given to a polygamous warmonging child molester to share with those ignorant enough to believe him.
Why else is it that 99.9% of the time, wherever there is war, bloodshed, murder, terrorism, bombings, and plots to kill innocent people, that somehow a Muslim is involved?

While there appear to be some persons of good will who happen to have been born Muslim and so believe in so warped a faith, unfortunately this does not seem to be true for so many others.

I honestly don’t mean to sound so harsh, but there comes a time to wake up to reality. After all, it was not I, “Sister” Amy, who renounced faith in a kind, loving, merciful and forgiving Lord and Savior to believe in a religion of death, murder and bloodshed.

I love how “Sister” Amy thinks she is an expert on Islam, even though she has not even been Muslim that long and only knows of the kinder, gentler, sterilized, Americanized version of Islam.

The Saudi legal and court system is entirely based on Islam–the Qur’an is the “Constitution” of Saudi Arabia. So any corruption in the Saudi legal system means that Islam itself is a corrupt religion. (And a demon-inspired religion, I might add).
 
What confuses me is intent. Did I miss in the article that says that the doctor did it on purpose?

There was no intent. The woman had already been taking that drug in America… When she returned to SA, she went to that doctor in order to continue taking the drug for her pain.

Any intent was on her part, not his.

In any event, intent on either side isn’t the issue. The issue is that apparently adherents of Islam are cruel, bloodthirsty and murderous. Even in times of joy (wedding celebrations), these wackos shoot guns into the air. I can see fireworks, but guns? :eek:

How about when women get raped and are sentenced to death by Muslim courts because she is no longer a virgin, or the act of intercourse was not with her husband regardless of her intent?

Normal human beings do not act like this.
  • Only those thoroughly infected with evil act like this.
  • All evil comes from Satan.
  • Therefore, those who act like this are acting under the influence of Satan and thereby doing his will, not God’s will.
You can call a pig a parrot, but it still ain’t gonna fly.

Dear Deb,

It is simple. The doctors can heal themselves and know all about medication, but the Prince can’t and don’t know medications.
 
I will be praying for this man in a few minutes when I go to bed. What a horrible, wretched position to be in just for doing his job in an ethically consistent manner. My question is: What else could he have done? Would he not have also been punished if he had refused to treat her on account of the liability involved?

I have met some good, kind Saudi Muslims here where I live. The Graduate Teaching Fellow in my Arabic class is one such kind man. I do not understand how such great people like him and Sam can grow up in such conditions. I find it basically impossible to imagine. It is a testament to the boundless grace of God, isn’t it? May people continue to help one another, and to reach out to God in the prison cells of KSA and everywhere else.
 
this is just crazy. The American government should stop being allied with the depraved kingdom of saudi arabia which is known for its many human rights violations though ofcourse they never will because of their supply of oil to america.

Excellent post! This expresses perfectly how I feel! Charity and kindness don’t work with Muslims. What they need is shock treatment to wake them up from their robotic stupor and make them face the reality of their cruel and inhuman beliefs. :clapping: :clapping:

Here is a question. Do you believe that I know more about Christianity, or someone who converted into Christianity?

I would WITHOUT DOUBT accept knowledge about Christianity from a convert TO Christianity, more than I would accept my own knowledge on the subject. Because I would assume that such a person had studied their faith very seriously.

Similarly, I have also studied my faith seriously. Whereas Sam has not studied Islam seriously. Moreover, the post is not about Islam. I simply said Saudi judges are corrupt–they are. Has nothing to do with being Americanized.

Secondly, I don’t think it’s fair for you to assume I only know some “Americanized” Islam, if there is such a thing (there is, and I really have such disdain for it that I hate to be associated with it.)

When my two primary sheikhs are from Syria and Egypt respectively, when my Qur’an teacher has studied in Saudi Arabia, and the sheikhs I most prefer to learn from other than these are from Saudi Arabia (Medina and Riyadh), why do you say I only know Americanized Islam? When my teachers are all from the middle east? Just think about it.

Your post was tremendously offensive, didn’t you notice?

Here, you make a claim–that women are raped and subsequently sentenced to death for loss of their virginity.

I would like you to first of all, PROVE this statement. Has this EVER happened?

And secondly, I would like you to prove, if such event ever occurred, that it is sanctioned in Islamic law.
