Does a person have to believe in literal burning hell to be Catholic

If one goes to hell, it’s because of one’s choices they made here, and died in those choices.
Sometimes a man cannot help his choices. For example, if a man looks at a woman with lust, he commits the mortal sin of adultery. But for a normal man, this happens all the time at the beach or when he sees an entertainment program with women dressed sexily and dancing and wiggling all over the place to the music. A man might commit this mortal sin of adultery out of weakness when he sees these American and other women as they act and dress in a sexy fashion, unlike the Muslim women who dress and act very modestly. Why doesn’t the Catholic Church endorse the Muslim garb for Catholic women and say something about women wearing bikinis at the beach, but it says that a man commits adultery if he looks at a woman with lust?

There’s a big gap between cleavage and bum showing bikinis (or other stuff worn in video clips) and “Muslim attire”.
Why not something in the middle as both are extremes.
It’s also appropriate to address according to your culture and the country you are in (or visiting).

Good point. Our Parish has a “Purity Apostolate”. I’ve noticed, just recently, that there are websites that have the word “modesty” or “modest” in them. There seems to be a thread of thought, in women, that one can’t dress fashionably unless lots of skin is showing. These show women how to do both at the same time. I like what I’ve seen.

Maybe. The teaching is that if a man looks at a woman with lust, he has already committed the mortal sin of adultery? Is that correct? I still think it is too easy for a man to commit the mortal sin of adultery in many cases and it is unfair to condemn him to eternal fire in hell for having lustful thoughts upon seeing a woman at the beach. Unless it is a Muslim woman who dresses very modestly in her Muslim swim outfit.
