Back to the OP. I would say yes, but the understanding of love is more like the OT than the New.

Actually from their (the high priest and the elders) view, yes, it was their business to kill him. Are you surprised?

They considered Jesus promoted a deviationist teaching from Judaism, the religion of the day. The priests had this obligation to protect their religion. Thus Jesus must be killed to stop more Jews followed his teaching.

And what was Jesus’ teaching that they did not like at all? Obvious. They considered Jesus blasphemed by claiming himself equalled to God.

Now as a splinter from mainstream Islam, don’t you ever experienced being harassed by them? In some countries, anyone who come with deviationist teaching of Islam will be persecuted by the Islamic government or the Imams.

This is no difference with the high priest and the elders who wanted Jesus eliminated.

It was through the Jews that God gave his commandments, prophets, and Messiah. They are His chosen people, but Gentiles are offered the gift of salvation under Messiah.

Gen 17:19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

Gen 17:21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

Oh, Jews aren’t a race BTW.

A true prophet of God can only descend from Isaac.

THere’s nowhere in the Torah that says a true prophet can only descend from Isaac. In fact, there is at least one example of a prophet who did not.

I can understand that Jews are racial so is their concept of GodAllahYHWH.
Please don’t make CatholicGod a racial one; the Catholics are broad minded so should be their concept of God.

The Jews are racial and since Christianity is the younger siblings of the Jews it would equate that we are too. There is a reason for this “racial” - I like to call it genealogy. It is to show that God always keeps His promises. He promised us that He will come to save us and correct our wrongs. This was done through genealogy. If a Christian denies this simple fact than we are not broad minded but small and selfish minded.
