for some reason, my computer would not display the video, but i have seen benny hinn on tv before. yes, he makes me feel uneasy. he almost promotes histeria in his audience and i feel he really misleads people as to what christianity really is. i don’t like preachers like him. he makes a lot of money. i watched a presentation done by a popular news magazine once. at the time he was married. i don’t really feel like there are many tv preachers that i recommend. not talking about EWTN.

I agree. Protestants have taken the notion of Oral Tradition to a new level. :DWith television and videotape we can now see Charles Stanley, now dead, as alive as ever on television and he is easy to listen to. He does not come across like these other guys.

I also kinda like to watch Joel Olsteins father. I do not like Joel. His father is unfortunately not memorialized like Charles Stanley but you can see him on youtube.🙂

Benny Hinn is generally considered outside the mainstream of Evangelical Christianity. He also has several unorthodox beliefs. Or shall I say heretical.
If it sounds too good to be true, or looks unreal to your mind, and an impossibility, it probably is. Benny Hinn makes many people uneasy.

God Bless

Hm? Maybe I’m confused, but Charles Stanley isn’t dead.
We regret to inform you that C. Christian has errored. I for some reason saw a message somewhere that Stanley was dead. It may have been on the website discussing the book of Hezekiah.

If anyone in the forum is from a charismatic church they may not find it as “disturbing”: I couldn’t watch the original video, but charismatic healing conferences often appear chaotic. Although Benny Hinn is considered unorthodox or heterodox to many, his beliefs are much closer to Catholicism than most of the tele-evangelists. I have joined the forum because of Benny’s recent teaching on the Covenant Meal. He believes that we should receive communion as often as possible. In his latest meetings, he has said that far more people are being healed in Catholic Churches at the moment they receive communion than in all of the other healing services combined; why? He explained that Catholics believe in the real presence of Jesus in the Communion wafer. Pastor Benny teaches the “real presence,” what you call transubstantiation. He stated clearly that the Bible does not state that the Eucharist is a “symbol,” and separated himself from most of the evangelcal world. Unlike other preaches, he is not afraid to separate himself by his teachings, leading to his condemnation at the hands of most other evangelical preachers. Although much of his “theatrics” are often the focus of criticism, this is done mainly by fundamentalists (baptists and others) who condemn all charismatics and Catholics. Benny Hinn, on the other hand, does not condemn Catholics and has even visited the Vatican and brought followers on tours of the Vatican and audiences with the Pope (something that other preachers would never do). The charismatic movement has always been critcised for excesses and healings have always been a subject of doubt. Many anti-charismatic evangelicals condemn Benny Hinn in the same group as Pope John Paul II as leaders of the charismatic movement (and are labelled as “anti-Christ” or “diabolic”). Whenever there are miracles and healing, there will always be skeptics.

Yep, it makes me very uneasy. It makes me glad I am Catholic, and mostly because the Catholic Church doesn’t fake it’s way into our life with false signs and wonders. I mean come on and just think about the Eucharist; the Eucharist in it’s self is our life. Benny Hinn can’t even come close to power of Jesus present in the most blessed sacrament of the altar.

Let’s be fair. Benny Hinn is an apostate. He is no more reflective of the Protestant view point, then Gerry Matatics is the Catholic view point.

One nice that can be said about Benny Hinn is that are preachers worst then he is. I’ve read that there some of the ‘Faith’ (name it/cleame it) teachers is that if you send them money, you will get it back a hunderd forld. I do think it’s the hair and the white suit that are unsetaling.

tabycat, that IS what Hinn preaches. He is a prosperity teacher to da max. There is no Biblical support for it. They just pull out a few verses, rip them from their original context and commence to destroy them.

Sadly, most people don’t have any background in proper Bible hermeneutics, so they fall prey to these monsters.

That’s how much atention I pay to Banny Hinn and his ilk. 😊 I still think he’s a oddball.

I just watched the videos
Benny is much more entertaining
Benny’s got sytle and music to match (ROFL)

I give you big kudos for lasting that long. I generally have to turn him off after a couple of seconds. My goodness, he’s offensive.
