Does anyone hate being a woman?

Maybe it’s a culture thing, but if existence itself sucks, one gender or the other isn’t going to have a better time of it… At least not where I live… Over here in many ways females have it better…

And if I weren’t female, the man I’m dating wouldn’t be interested in me, because he wants a woman! Lol. Just like I want a man.

I guess what I’m trying to say, if you’re not out to behave or become like a man, at least try to revel in whatever femininity DOES offer.

No, I don’t walk like a man… Idk about talking tbh but probably inherited that from dad if I do… I’m unambiguously female in appearance if I’m wearing anything but a sack… Lol because I’m top heavy. Even short hair and zero makeup won’t get me mistaken for a guy. :rotfl:

BUT I do have a ‘male’ personality that many can’t stand in general and tolerate only in men. I’m fortunate that my steady is both patient and stubborn and doesn’t give up on me. So basically… Whatever is you, and is also a positive privilege of the fairer sex… Go for it!

And then I realized there was actual girl impulses inside me that had never been indulged, and I’m enjoying letting them out. Growing my hair long again, trying more clothing styles, learning different makeup techniques, expanding my tastes… It’s all become quite fun. 😃
If I were a straight man, I would be attracted to females, and that isn’t so bad 😃 Much better to like guys tbh. It’s like they are allergic to love. Plus I can easily lose fat, haha.

But what does femininity offer? I mean i did say it’s not like I’m completely against girly stuff. I do like makeup and clothes (although i still hate wearing anything that’s not long pants)

I’m the complete opposite . My boobs/butt are probably concave lol!

Also, Lea, I’d be careful about thinking this sense of displacement or alienation would be different if you were the other gender. INFJs in general have a deep dissatisfaction with the world because nothing can live up to their profound ideals - not even themselves. (INFJs are much better tolerated as females; if you were the same type, but male, you’d be in my situation.) My INFJ best friend speaks of this ‘not belonging’ all the time - a feeling that there is no real ‘place’ for her to feel fully necessary. She feels everything so deeply and yet hides so much.

I never wanted to hide; I tried to tell the truth no one really understands… Her alienation comes from her silence, and mine from my speaking. She thinks no one will understand… And I know they won’t.

All except her… And hopefully one other. And that will be enough.
Well, my sense of despair just shot up

Male and female are different down to their souls. You will see and hear and feel everything differently because you are you, and not someone else. It is our differences that make us useful - necessary - to the other half of the species.

Observe the differences in perception that struck me from a single (my second ever) date: forums.catholic-questions.org/showpost.php?p=14075410&postcount=192

(forgive the other thread-specific references)

I have yet to see how my feminine qualities, that are not found in men, are useful tbh. I see what you mean. And I see it in a lot of people. But all of that never applied to me.

I still don’t get the feminine genius and the TOB and everything. I can see how to applies to some women, but I don’t see it in all women. It just seems like another gender stereotype, as if we don’t have enough of those. I do wish people in the Church elaborate on stuff like this without spouting their own opinions and interpretations. If I want someone’s own interpretation, I would ask a protestant 😃

Well, to be perfectly honest…

It’s all just theory until you meet that one person you really, really want. 🤷

I still feel like it’s more of a subjective thing IMO (I grew up with males, I’ve never complemented them, I just pissed them off, hahaha). Like I’m not denying that it is a beautiful idea. I just wish it applied to everyone. God can be so annoying at times and I don’t feel that everything is done for a reason (for example, there is no special reason for me to look deformed, to make me female etc). I don’t feel like all of us have a purpose in life, some do, some don’t. Some will die and it’s like they have never lived at all, yeesh. It’s an ugly idea, though. But I always felt that it was a harsh truth that people avoid to prevent people like me from slitting their wrists

But seriously though, if I ever meet a man, y’all better start a thread in the Prayer Intentions for him. He’s gonna need it:blush:

The thing about ‘done for a reason’ is that you can’t see it until it’s over with. 🤷

I think many of us have thought these two bolds before.

You put them in perfect order though…

See if we fix our perception on the first toward God

Then the second bold is not so true.

What do you mean by that??

What do you mean by that??
It us God first and all else gets better and falls into place.

You often mention a certain brand of questioning God, being “annoyed” by God, maybe even having a hint of anger/resentment.

Most people today walk without God and most people can and will say their significant other needs prayers to deal with them…

It is with God the need for those prayers fades.

So basically when I die:eek:
No, I meant that you can’t see the reason something happens until the something is over and done with. Then you can look back and say, ‘ahhh, that’s why!’

sorry for resurrecting this thread-was looking at your old posts…

I hate being a woman a lot of the times too. Giving birth was absolutely terrible, we can’t enjoy sex as easily as men. That can be a good thing if your hubby is absolutely selfless, but most of the time i got to just ‘lie there and get it over with’ because apparently it’s wrong to want to cuddle instead

Also sad that I cry at almost everything during PMS or pregnancy and want chocolate (a very, very specific kind) or else I’ll lose it. and we also get bloated and have pimples during these times.

you would think god could have made it easier

breastfeeding can be really uncomfortable, thank the lord that part of my life is over!

we also sometimes let emotions cloud our judgement. men do this too, sure…but one poster mentioned we love tooooo deeply. It ruined me when I found out that hubby was cheating. i could not function at all

One part that I enjoy is that it is acceptable to smear makeup on our faces on days we feel like poop. Men on the other hand have nothing! It’s also easier to shop because the industry thrives on our insecurities. Which is sad, but hey it has its perks! 😃

Beauty fades … I was quite beautiful when I was younger … I became ill and as the years passed by the beauty faded … I don’t even know myself when I look in the mirror … what truly matters is what is in the inside … I have known people that were not particularly good looking, but I found them to be very good looking after getting to know them and seeing what was on the inside. I pray that you find your inner beauty and that Mother Mary helps you to realize the beauty of being a woman.

I hate being a woman too for very many reasons. I can never be as sexual as a man. Losing my virginity was painful. There are many stereotypes about women. I hate that after a relationship I become depressed men seem to move on to the next one. Then I think of aging that really pisses me off. Probably the 20s are the most beautiful I will be. Then I think how my breasts will eventually sag. Why can’t I be detached like a man?

Would you prefer the alternative? REALLY? NO WAY…

I always accepted and enjoyed what I was and am and now in old age even more so.

We endure better and age better… and the things like vanity and appearance matter less now.

Being a woman at any age is great and far far better than… :eek

:rotfl: i grew up with 2 brothers and spent more time with male cousins…could connect and have fun with them (after you get over the awkwardness) compared to girls

Also jealous that their role in the babymaking process is the most fun part for them, while the woman gets to enjoy years of cramps and possible stained sheets and clothes and then 9 months of carrying the baby…and then the childbirth. And then the baby sucking on her nipples till they are raw

For someone who kind of wants kids in the future, it’s terrifying tbh

Yes, there are good things and bad things. I hated my periods, my pregnancies were fine but I clinically died during both deliveries (hemorrhaging) and couldn’t have any more children. Sure, I have long since failed the legendary “pencil test”. I have lines, my hair is gray.

But I wouldn’t trade any of this for being a man. God made me a woman and my personality has developed accordingly.

:yeah_me:

Think God kind of compensated because I have insanely small breasts, so that might not be a huge problem

My teacher once told us when we were like 10 that we would be the most beautiful when we are 18. Can you hear me sobbing :o

There are girls who are insanely detached. Or at least they act like it. I think society does a greeeeat job at teaching men how to be masculine by getting laid, whilst little girls read fairytales and start planning their weddings at age 5

Ps I wasn’t aware this thread got revived…lol
