i wish you the best too… my birthday is also dec 15th lol!
Thanks!

You know, one of my oldest and dearsest friends has MANY tattoos, some I like, some…not so much. But what really bothers me, is the looks she gets from people. She is one of the most beautiful people I know! So kind and loving. A dear person and a true friend, yet people judge her by the art on her body. It’s really too bad and it’s their loss. They are missing out on getting to know this great lady, because they can’t get past what they see!
I’ve read a few posts on here judging those who have body art and all I have to say is shame on you! You have no right to judge anyone. You don’t know these people, but yet you feel you can make assumptions about them. I don’t have a tattoo and I don’t plan on getting one, that’s just me. But who am I to say that those who have them are wrong. There is no Church teaching against them, they aren’t hurting anyone and they aren’t making anyone else get one against their will.
If you don’t like body art…fine! But this thread is for those people who do like it and have them. It was not asking who LIKES them or not! If you would like to start another thread discussing if body art is good or bad, please do. But let those with body art post here and enjoy their discussions without being judged!

I have a tattoo of a Celtic Cross (about 3’’ long) on my lower left leg. I love it.

I’m not into body mutilation, but props to people who do this. I think it looks cool and it gives people some individuality. Certain piercings and tats in the right spot look great.

Ha, I never put my tats on the internet and I’ve had them for 18 and 14 years … so why not debut them on the Catholic Forum?! The lightning bolt on the chest is something I didn’t put a lot of thought into, but in retrospect it means inspiration from above (not really anything vengeful like being struck down by lightning or some such!) The one on my upper arm represents that I’m a writer (at least I like to think so.) What I’m inspired to write flows from Above, to my brain, beneath the tattoo on its way to my left (writing) hand. The fact the that hand with the pen is writing a Cross, in addition to the obvious connotation, is intended to depict the + sign for positivity and a creative force, and also the letter t which is one of my initials. Maybe hokey but I’m stuck with it forever now – and am by no means complaining…

Tatoos… Oh NO…!!!

I don’t want any grafitti on my house… so why would I want any on my body…???

And kinky body piercings…? Hell NO…! I don’t want any holes in me that I wasn’t born with.

Consider, a little Anthropology lesson here…

You know… all of the Paliolythic tribal people of the world ( 'Nuther words… all of the world’s “Savages” ) had certain things in common. Tatoos and body piercings. You see… the Savages in Borneo had no contact with the savages of the Inca tribes of South America or the Watussi tribes of Africa. And The savages in the Polynesian Islands knew nothing about the savages in some other place like South Dakota in the time of their tenuous existance and yet that all had certain things in common… Tatoos and kinky body piercings. Do this… take a good look at a picture of Dennis Rodman and then look at a picture of a specimen of a paleolythic tribal person in any Anthropology text book… You’ll get the picture.

Christ told his deciples that we would know that the end times are near when things will be like it was “…in the times of Noah.” The times of Noah means in times of the paliolythic tribes, or in the days before there was any “civilization”.

Your Tatoos and kinky body piercings are a sign of the times… any YOU can’t see it.

Open your eyes.!!! 👍

Not only have I already responded to you once (a response to which you didn’t even reply), I am seriously considering marking this post of yours as spam. Anyone else care to agree with me?

Anyways, to the rest of you guys out there, I’m still looking for the material used in printing temporary tattoos but when I do find it, I’m thinking of putting this symbol. Can I have some thoughts on it? :o

Maso,

Truth or not, we are commanded by Christ not to judge others. You have placed judgments of “savages” on each and every person that chooses to get tattoos and piercings.

I will pray for you.

I posted earlier about my 2 tattoos. But I didn’t realize you could post photos. I really wanted to post my latest. It’s so important to me and whether anyone really cares or not, I need to get him out there. Matthew’s death was preventable. He died from my using antidepressants which have many serious side effects and are extremely dangerous to babies in their mothers wombs. I know the truth now. I love you Matthew!! You will always be remembered:getholy:

Are you feeling o.k? Did you recently hit your head or something to that effect?

Hmm I actually have 4 tats each one was for a reason but they are not reglious as I hadn’t given myself to the Lord completely back when I got each of them. I take them now as a periods in my life and I was actually thinking of adding one more but that one to be for this period in my life… Where I have accepted our Lord Jesus… I was thinking of maybe a rosary on my ankle but I don’t know yet. I do know it will be along process if do my 5th and I want that to be my last. All my tats you wouldn’t even know I had then as they are all in places you can’t really see(back of my neck, lower back, inside wrist, and over my heart) The one over my heart is the one that means the most to me as its of a little angel (size of a qtr) that one was for our DD who passed from SIDS and I got it for her…

I actually have been asked if I could go back would I go back and not do them… but you know I wouldn’t because each one was a journary and if I wouldn’t have gone through that period in my life I wouldn’t be here I am now… Although… I do giggle esp. when people see the Black Widow Tat on the back of my neck… (its rare to see it I have long hair… but when people see it they say you have that on you?? lol… I used to write in College and my Pen name was Spider Queen.lol…)

I’m itching for more ink. The next piece is the Holy Trinity. I know how I want it done. Now to find the artist to do it.

I don’t consider tattoos to be body mutilation because there is, literally, a whole sub culture into body mutilation. Now THAT is sad. 😦 There’s also body modification, but some of that is borderline to body mutilation.

Yeah… I hit my head on the truth… 😉

You might as well throw away the knives, spoons and forks and start eating raw meat with your bare hands and taring away the meat from the bones like the savages do… since you want to look just like them anyway.

I guess I should be offended, but that is funny to me for some reason. I am sorry but I just can’t take you serious. Do you really believe these things or are you laughing as you write them? Either way, you are amusing. Keep it up! 👍

schultzc - I am truely sorry for you loss. Thank you for sharing your story.
