Does anyone here, that believes in God, actually think that God accepts gay marriage?

Those who believe that God accepts “gay marriage” are either not educated on the matter, or don’t want to be.
 
I’m still working on having a happy marriage let alone a gay one!🤷

I agree. A few years ago, I would have said yes to the OP’s question, but I was in serious denial (self-proclaimed “radical feminist”) who had been drinking the secular kool-aid most of my life.

Our society has a serious problem understanding the distinction between loving a person who does things that are wrong, and approving of things that are wrong.
 
I most certainly believe in God and I do not presume to guess at what he does or does not accept when it comes to marriage. I do know that he left us ten commandants and a golden rule to treat others as we would like to be treated. I know that there are seven deadly sins but I do not think any of them pertain to the love of one person for another. I would leave God’s judgement to God and try to be as understanding as I can of those who would like to burden other people with their personal intolerance’s. No one is trying to make you marry someone you do not love. If you do not accept same gender marriage do not marry someone of the same gender. It really is none of your business.
 
Why did you start a thread specifically seeking an argument? I mean really, you posted a thread that lacked any substance, it was just a challenge to other Catholics to debate with you. Aren’t there enough contentious threads on this site without trying to instigate another?

It would be one thing to link to common arguments, or a church document, or something and open it up as a general discussion in Moral Theology or Social Justice.

But no, posting this, the way it’s worded and with the tone it has in Family Life is just seeking to bait people into arguments. That’s not charitable, and probably unlikely to work, given that almost everyone on this site who believes in god is against gay marriage. The only person I know of that is pro gay marriage on this site certainly does not believe that god condones it. 😛

I agree. Most Catholics who knew something about their faith would, I think.

(But if you’re saying that not being able to comprehend the entirety of the mind of God means that we can’t comprehend any…that would not be accurate.)

We don’t have to know what He thinks, we know what He said concerning homosexuality through the revealed truths that He’s left us. 🤷

Maybe the OP is just looking for new angles to open up future discussions with others outside of the site? I think you’re leaping to conclusions here, based on bias. We all do that sometimes, but still.

i am sure if you dig around enough you can find someone’s holy book which accepts it, afterall our holy bible is just one of many holy books.
 
I believe God loves every gay person on the face of the earth as though they were his only child. The biggest fairy fluttering through this world he loves just as much as he loves the pope.

I don’t see how it would make sense for us to believe he approves of same sex marriage when, if we believe the bible is the word of God, it is an abomination and a disordered act contrary to human nature and dignity.

Who would want to see someone they love damaging their body and spirit through any type of sinful activity.

What is wrong with debate? Yours is the only post that lacks substance and is argumentative that I have read so far.

but ours is just one holy book of many, I am sure even amongst followers of our book there are those who interpret the levitical codes against homosexuality on the same level as the prscriptions against ingesting shellfish
