Does Darwin's theory of evolution contradict Catholicsm?

No, no. Study the fictional evolution bush. We all started out in the water. Then, magically, gills were discarded for lungs, fins became legs…
You don’t want to Google lungfish. It’ll make your comments look uninformed and ignorant. I mean, whoever heard of a fish that has lungs. And can walk on its fins. Next you’ll be telling us that they can climb trees! (don’t Google mudskippers either).

Madness masquerading as science.
I can’t finish. I need a stiff soda pop.
I need a box of tissues.
And the spider eventually got the hang of making a web.

I can’t believe you used that last word. It’s Trekker for us more sophisticated types 🙂

As for me, a Creator with a penchant for producing weird creatures is much easier to believe than a set of lungs evolving in a fish (or a placental reproductive system evolving in an egg-laying reptile).

Because despite your constant proclamation to the otherwise (based apparently on near total ignorance of evolution, biology or any other science) it is testable.
You’re quite right - I forgot that when it comes to evolution, the normal standards of scientific rigour don’t apply. How else could junk science survive and be taught to our children?

It must have been rough going for electric eel before evolution plugged it in.

The electric eel’s neat 600-volt trick apparently began with an imperceivably small mutation - which somehow conferred a survival advantage. How?

I think that this sums up your position quite nicely.

G: This cannot happen.
B: Well, here’s an example of it.
G: Ah, well God did that.

You are given an example of a transitional creature - a fish that can breathe air and walk on its fins, and all you can say is that Goddidit. You are like the YEC when presented with undeniable proof of the age of ancient rocks: ‘Ah, well God put them there to look like they are really old’.

There are some interesting discussions going on elsewhere in the forum. But I never fail to check this one out. It’s my guilty pleasure.

This video is disgraceful! Williams commits the unforgivable sin of disrespecting Saint Charles (Darwin). I remember him many years ago also making fun of the theory that whales evolved from some land-lubbing vegetarian creature. Rank ignorance is bad enough, but when it evolves into comedy, it just makes me sick.

Maybe he started out with just couple of volts and bluffed the rest.

And this is “evidence” that all life on earth evolved from bugs?
The gross ignorance of your YEC sources is showing here. “Bugs” are metazoans, with more than one cell. The very first material life was a single cell, not a Metazoan. It took billions of years for the first metazoans to evolve, in the Precambrian.

Why do you rely on sources that are so ignorant? Quoting them just makes you appear ignorant.

Some bacteria recovered from ice core samples from Antarctica were found to be resistant to certain modern antibiotics. I wonder how they “evolved that ability.”
Have you heard of “random mutation”. Mutations can be useful or not when they appear. They may, or may not become useful later. Some humans have mutations that partially protect against AIDS. Those mutations were not useful when they appeared. They are useful now.

Random mutations are random.

Evolution has perfect timing, pollen evolved just in time for the bees…ain’t that sweet !!!

Where does that first line all the way to the left come from ?

That line is the original material life on earth, single celled organisms. It is not labelled, but it is probably only Eukaryotes; I suspect that this diagram omits Eubacteria and Archaea.

Note at the top, this chart is from around 500 Mya. Life started a long long way to the left of this chart, about 3,700 Mya. There is a lot of time not shown to the right.
