Look at the cross. Jesus died for sinners. That fact is the most powerful counter argument against the idea that God hates sinners.

God hates sin because it separates us from him.

OK, point made. Disordered gambling. Gambling as an end in itself. Gambling which threatens the financial stability of the gambler or family.

Conversely, it is not sinful to refrain from all gambling.

No like the Psalms are numbered differently depending on what version of the Bible you have. So it might be one up or down. Other posters seem to find the verses that the OP is talking about.

Doesn’t sound like he hates sinners to me.
