They come to Him a lot, but they address Him only as Allah. I was just curious as to whether or not others here believe if God the Father (at whom their prayers are directed) hears them or not.
“There is no other way of Christian prayer than Christ”…They come to Him a lot, but they address Him only as Allah. I was just curious as to whether or not others here believe if God the Father (at whom their prayers are directed) hears them or not.
The above quote from the Catechism seems to be dealing with Christian prayer specifically, and that is always through Christ, our Head, to the Father.“There is no other way of Christian prayer than Christ”…
… CCC 2664
Prayer is a relationship.
Oh yeah I know that (I speak some Arabic). I just threw that in there because there’s the very ignorant opinion that the Allah of Islam and the Father God of Christianity are two different entities and I was trying to cover for that.I’m sure he does. “Allah” is not a name. It is the Arabic word for “God.” In Arabic translations of the Bible you’ll find God is Allah too.
I like that imagery about Christ as High Priest. But Muslims should learn more about Jesus since he is the High Priest who takes prayers to God.
I think God is tolerant of people who have honest doubts about Jesus since Jesus has been made so mysterious and hard to understand, and as idolatry to many.
Since the Boss (God) has already sent a circular letter (the Qur’an) to all of His employees (humankind), then would this Boss be tolerant of any employee who chooses not to follow the instructions written on it?I think God is tolerant of people who have honest doubts about Jesus since Jesus has been made so mysterious and hard to understand, and as idolatry to many.
Islam states that Allah has no son. The God of the Bible, however, does. How is it then that Allah can be the same God of the Bible, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (even Ishmael)?I’m sure he does. “Allah” is not a name. It is the Arabic word for “God.” In Arabic translations of the Bible you’ll find God is Allah too.
Allah is also used by Jews and Christians living in Arabic speaking nations to refer to God.Islam states that Allah has no son. The God of the Bible, however, does. How is it then that Allah can be the same God of the Bible, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (even Ishmael)?
Allah IS the name of the god of Islam.
So in your next prayers you’ll pray to Allah? You have no problem saying, Dear Allah (who has no Son), watch over my family today?"Allah is also used by Jews and Christians living in Arabic speaking nations to refer to God.
Whether you like it or not, Christians and Jews in Islamic nations do refer to God as Allah, they do not believe he has the same nature as the Muslims have given him but they do use the same name. I believe the use of the word ‘‘Allah’’ in reference to God predates the founding of Islam and was quite common among the Christians in Arabia before Muhammad and his followers. So in your next prayers you’ll pray to Allah? (1) You didn’t answer my question. (2) Is this Islamic “Allah” the God of the Bible? Will you pray to Islam’s Allah to protect your family?Whether you like it or not, Christians and Jews in Islamic nations do refer to God as Allah, they do not believe he has the same nature as the Muslims have given him but they do use the same name. God Bless
Peter
It’s the same God, it’s just that Muslims have a distorted understanding of him based on lies, delusions, etc. It’s like modern Jews who deny the Son as well, even though they acknowledge one God–or it is like the pagans in Acts 17 of whom St. Paul says:(1) You didn’t answer my question. (2) Is this Islamic “Allah” the God of the Bible? Will you pray to Islam’s Allah to protect your family?
Will I pray to Allah as defined by Islam? No, never. Will I pray to the universal God, Lord of all, named Allah by some and worshipped imperfectly by the Muslim people (and most Christians)? Every day.(1) You didn’t answer my question. (2) Is this Islamic “Allah” the God of the Bible? Will you pray to Islam’s Allah to protect your family?

And for those “employees” who say that they have doubts and are not sure whether or not this letter really comes from the “Boss”, then is not your ability to discern between truth and falsehood an integral part of your job description and that it will definitely be a very significant factor in your job appraisal interview with your Boss in order to determine your suitability to be promoted to a much higher position… or to be demoted to a much lower position?
