hi, this is similar to my last post but i can’t help but feel lonely all the time. i’m a freshman in college and i always find myself alone. going to eat, going to the rec, anywhere…alone. i have friends but they never tell me anything and i always find them doing something without me. I really desire consistent friends or just someone to check up on me. I like the peace and quiet and i’m very industrious as i get my homework done all the time. but this often leads to porn and masturbation afterwards.

but the main thing i desire is a beautiful women to be my girlfriend but all of them seem to trend toward emasculative, dipsh*t college boys who are just there to drink and party. the most frustrating thing is that i have abnormally hight testostorone levels and makes the desire even worse and i can’t stay patient. I have a lot of strong qualities such as good physical features, strong of faith, very intelligent, i do the right thing every time and a booming deep voice. but its just i’m introverted and i can’t really get my face out there on a consistent basis or speak up. its like i can never reach my potential…like a mental block or something.

any ideas? thanks.

Well God knows everything. So yes He understands your desires more then you do yourself. He also knows whether these things that you want are actually good for you or if they are actually poison in disguise.

On a personal note, I would say that if these women are interested in what you say they are they probably wouldn’t make very good companions anyway. Don’t let petty jealousy or an uncharitable attitude overwhelm you.

BUT Seek first the kingdom. I hope you can talk to a priest and discuss this with him. If you haven’t already I would go to confession about your impure thoughts and actions / lust and develop a strong prayer life to combat it. I personally love the rosary myself. Anyway, get to know Him and ask Him to help you find His will for you. Only then will you ultimately be happy. If marriage is your vocation He will help you to meet that goal if you ask. :blessyou:

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

(Matthew 6:25-34 ESV)

You should go to more campus activities. I think that is a good way to meet with people. I remember I had a similar problem my freshmen year. I had a group of friends and they went places and did stuff without inviting me. Perhaps, since you are introverted like me, you tend to be fairly quiet in group settings? Maybe they take your quietness for indifference. My friends told me that I didn’t talk enough so they didn’t think I liked hanging out with them. This wasn’t the case, but that’s how they felt. Perhaps if you join a club at your school and meet some new people that way, then keep up with them. Try starting conversations and planning things. Just text one of them and ask what they’re doing for lunch. Doesn’t hurt to ask. 🙂 If you check up on them and spend time in conversation even just talking about classes you like (or don’t like) will show that you are interested.Getting your homework done on time is great, but don’t just sit around in your room. That just opens the door for temptation. Join a club or organization. Go to an on-campus ministry group like Catholic Campus Ministries if there is one. If there is a chapel on campus go there for prayer every day. What else are you doing? Spend the time you would spend doing sinful things and do God-honoring things like read the Bible and pray. Go to the gym on a regular basis and do something positive with that testosterone. I understand the thing about girls being attracted to the typical ****-faced drunk losers. My circle of friends did this. But there are girls out there, like me, for example, who see that facade as what it is. By the time they graduate, they will realize those guys are losers. Some girls wil see through it much sooner. Be friendly and approachable and girls will be receptive. If you are not the typical hormone-laden underage drinker it will be refreshing. Take my advice about praying every day. God understands our desires, we just need to do what He asks of us to show that we are ready. Porn and masturbation has no place in a relationship. You need to stay away from that for a period of time before you start dating.

A very wise man (may he rest in peace) once said “I searched for a friend and found none. I became a friend and found many”

As to beauty, God judges hearts and not bodies or faces. Look for a beautiful heart as a companion.

I’ll let the younger people here give you advice, but it would be good if there were more
young men like you, and well, beauty is only skin deep, and its only by knowing a person that one can know if truely they are beautiful or not. You may be missing out on some wonderful women because you may be placing too much importance on looks. Getting involved in activites like the other poster said is good. Good luck and God Bless.🙂

Sorry PO, I was posting same time you were, you said it so much better.😃

Thanks for the insight guys! I feel a lot better!🙂 yeah and thats my favorite gospel story of Luke and the Crows
