I’m confused about if he returns in secret
The catechism doesn’t make it clear
I know the church says he will return in glory, but how long is he here before he reveals himself

He talks about ‘sustaining those form sin, untill Judgement day’

He says not even the angels know when he will return, but its an angels horn that announces his return, how long is he here before that announcment.

He says when you see these things come to pass 'look up (the cloudes) your redemption is near.

It talks about the sign in the heavens of his return, is it possible to convert when you see the sign??

I’m also confused about when is ‘times up’ as it says there will be a sign in the heavens before you even see Jesus, can you repent then?

The catechism doesn’t make it clear, i’m so confused.

I know he returns on a cloud.

Sustenance is by the grace of the Holy Spirit and through the Holy Eucharist.

There is a Particular Judgement at death, but those still alive in the body at the General Judgement will receive a resurrected body which is either glorified (those for heaven) or not (those for hell). Repentance can occur any time before death or for those that do not die bodily, before the resurrection.

Catechism of the Catholic Church
680 Christ the Lord already reigns through the Church, but all the things of this world are not yet subjected to him. The triumph of Christ’s kingdom will not come about without one last assault by the powers of evil.

681 On Judgment Day at the end of the world, Christ will come in glory to achieve the definitive triumph of good over evil which, like the wheat and the tares, have grown up together in the course of history.

I’d rather not be present on the earth at that specific moment but if I am, I am, by God’s will.
People will die of fright in anticipation of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
There’s some things I really don’t want first hand knowledge of.

@Hellothere

Christ’s return will not be in secret.
We will not know the moment beforehand but when He comes the whole world will see Him and know Him for who He is.

And we have no reason to think He will be on a cloud.

I’d suggest reading some books like “Rapture Trap”, “Rapture, the End Times Myth”, “Will Catholics be Left Behind” and “What Jesus Actually Said About The End of the World”.

I know he returns on a cloud.
I take this to be a parallel of His ascension -

Acts 1:9-11
Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition

9 And when he had said these things, while they looked on, he was raised up: and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And while they were beholding him going up to heaven, behold two men stood by them in white garments.
11 Who also said: Ye men of Galilee, why stand you looking up to heaven? This Jesus who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come, as you have seen him going into heaven.

Why would any faithful Christian die of fright, rather than trust in the Lord?

Unless they had a pre-existing heart condition and were startled, perhaps?

Why don’t you just repent now and then you’ll be ready and not have to worry about it?

Jesus is here right now, he’s in all the people of the world if you choose to see Jesus in them.

I believe it will be too late for the faithless. They will most likely rationalize it away in their minds.

Every time you receive Jesus He is more present in you!
What a wonderful thing. By your kindness love thoughtfulness and ability to give makes you know.
It’s not a secret.

Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, every one who pierced him; and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.

Revelation 1:7 RSV-CI

JW’s say Jesus returned in spirit in 19?? to make another bogus prophecy “true” and fit their doctrine

Yes, Jesus returns in secret.

Matthew 25:37-40
"Then the righteous will answer him and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?’ And the king will say to them in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.’ "

Every eye seeing Him is poetic then? You see the flaw in your argument?

Revelation describes his return in his full glory. Rest assured, you won’t miss it. Matthew 24-25 seems to indicate though that we should not be overly anxious about the timing of Christ’s return. Our focus is on being faithful stewards of proclaiming the gospel until he returns.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and His kingdom shall have no end.

And we are told it’s gonna be on the clouds, correct? Does that not match up with the Creed?
