In order to change my life around a little bit, I’ve vowed to say some prayer to Mary whenever I feel a temptation of the flesh. Something like: “Mary, mother of God, pray for me; Mary ever-virgin, pray for me; Mary, full of grace, pray for me.” It’s worked so far. 😃

I find myself saying this over and over… And while it’s a silly thing to say “Mary tires of interceding for her fellow Christians,” I can’t help but think I’m annoying the heck out of her. 😛

I just want some helpful advice. To be honest, asking the saints to intercede for me is something new and I would like some theology behind it all and maybe some pointers. Thanks.

I doubt it since she invites the prayers of her children. Do you get tired of hearing your kids say Mommy, I love you, mommy please help me.

Although I think St Anthony has assigned a guardian angel to take care of my keys and cell phone.

Don’t say that - now you’ll make every mother out there whose child pesters her every two minutes feel guilty for wishing they wouldn’t.

well maybe Mary, like many moms, does get somewhat irritated by whining, and would prefer a flat out request in a normal tone of voice. why not begin by looking at what she has actually said when she appears to some of her children? I am sure some of the Fatima devotees will be here to give examples. Certainly she told Juan Diego he is her child, she is his mother, and is there to listen to and respond to his prayers. “Am I not your Little Mother”

Don’t get discouraged but be persistent with your prayer.
Yesterday’s Gospel was about a Greek woman who came to Jesus to ask Him to cast the demon out of her daughter. First, Jesus tested her by saying He didn’t want to throw food to the dog but feed His children first. The woman answered even the dog still ate little pieces of food off of the table.

Because of her being persistent, Jesus healed her daughter.

The same for you and all of us - be persistent. Also, pray even when there is no temptation.

Is there weriness in heaven, tirdness, lack of intention, rejection of hearing prayer? No of corse not the words I have put to my questions are all directed in the flesh. Those in heaven are of the spirit there is no tirdness, lack of intention, desire to listen in heaven where GOD is in the fullness of His love.

The fleshly thought patterns have no place in heaven other than in the choice of God’s "mercy " to listen to and give grace and love to God’s children.

Yep. I know I’m kind of “high maintainence” to our Blessed Mother, St. Anthony, and my guardian angel. St. Francis helps with the animals quite a bit, too.
