Does pre-marital sex in any way serve the common good of society?
nope:nope:Does pre-marital sex in any way serve the common good of society?
Oh I like this idea…but it aint ever gonna happen!so then it would make sense for us as a society - the government, not just the Church - to discourage pre-marital sex, right? I mean, as a public policy issue.
Young people wouldn’t tolerate a marriage age of 25 odd if pre-marital sex wasn’t an option. So we could say it delays the age of marriage.Does pre-marital sex in any way serve the common good of society?
then perhaps we need to teach the youngsters some morals & values!Young people wouldn’t tolerate a marriage age of 25 odd if pre-marital sex wasn’t an option. So we could say it delays the age of marriage.
This has some pretty profound implications for education, economic structure, salaries, housing, and so forth. Some are good, some are bad. It is very difficult to say what would happen if the typical marriage age was brought forward to around 18.
I agree. No, in fact, premarital sex is bad for society. It results in STDs and unwanted pregnancies.
good pointIn order to answer the question one must first ask what it does for or to souls. Society is made up of individuals who have spiritual nature. If individuals are damaged the society is damaged.

Nope, our (in my town) public schools do not teach it.Okay, I am uninformed about this topic. Isn’t an abstinence message included in most sex education classes?
Well, I’m young so I only have my little circle of acquaintances to look at:Does pre-marital sex in any way serve the common good of society?
Marital ages used to be earlier (more so for women, but for men also). Society managed. Of course, many men were having pre-martial sex with prostitues etc, even if their wives to be were not.Young people wouldn’t tolerate a marriage age of 25 odd if pre-marital sex wasn’t an option. How can wide spread mortal sin ever serve the common good of society?Does pre-marital sex in any way serve the common good of society?
“Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s”so then it would make sense for us as a society - the government, not just the Church - to discourage pre-marital sex, right? I mean, as a public policy issue.
