About Satan taking the weakest souls rather than working too hard, yes I see the point there. But I’ve been taught that Satan would rather have the soul of one priest than a thousand other souls - strike the shepherd, scatter the sheep, so to speak. Generally priests wouldn’t be considered the weakest of souls, - at least I hope not.
Anything that leads us away from God is attributed to Satan - anything away from God is toward Satan. You cannot move away from God without moving closer to Satan. So yes, Satan attacks marriages - maybe he won’t succeed. The choice is up to the individuals as to whether they give in to him or not.
That may be true. I have not been taught that. However, that would be part of the numbers game. So, for example. A priest becomes a known pedifile… Wow, how glorious for the Devil. Because then what happens. The whole community is devistated. Let’s say 2000 people. Now we’re talkin’. That was worth the effort no? Because NOW Satan has an opportunity to turn people away from God and church.
A priest that molests children is a weak soul. He didn’t just wake up one day (unless possessed… a whole other topic that freaks me out to even discuss.) and say, “hey, I like little boys.” Satan is ON ALERT… There’s a priest… Now, let’s get him. He might back down for a while. Let the priest fight it a bit. 2 boys this year. Oh… he feels he must stop. He prays… he thinks he has it licked… then BAM, another attack, and 10 boys next year… then another 5 and so on… Until One day… Satan is PLeASED! That priest has done so much work for him! Because now, these boys, they are traumatized. BY THEIR CHURCH… BY THEIR GOD! And they turn away.
WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY!!! NO? Why would God let this happen? Doesn’t he love us? Why not protect us? And then, people quit going to chuch… Oh the numbers start racking up… It’s a GAME. I can see how a priest is more valuable to SATAN. But not to God. God loves us all. With the same amount of love to a degree of infinity and beyond. Satan, I suspect “loves” a person for what a person can bring him. Satan is a gold digger. He is a young gorgeous woman sleeping with an 80 year old man to get the estate!
So yes, you may be right. But it’s still a numbers game…
I agree. Why would Satan try to work on a soul that already ignores God? He wants as many souls as possible so he tries to attack those souls who are still on “alert” to him and his antics.
Not all souls are ignoring God. Many are in a state of limbo. You may be able to have a drink every now and then. Perhaps daily. But let’s say you have a really strong drink. Are you senses NOT weakened? You KNOW you’re not supposed to get into a car and drive. But then you have another drink. Oh, that was tasty. And my problems… well, they’re a little fuzzy… When do you make the decision to get into a car and drive? I’ve had one too many on occassion. I KNOW not to drive. There is NOTHING that would get me to drive. What makes others get in the car? There is something there. A sort of weakness.
I’m not saying Satan doesn’t go for less than weak souls. I’m sure there are some just fun to go for. Did he NOT abuse Padre Pio? Through out his entire childhood. Do you know he thought EVERYONE physically batteled Satan. But why would Satan do that? I suspect, and I can only do that, as we’re NOT FRIENDS!!! I suspect he too was aware of all that Padre Pio could accomplish. And had he not forced himself to fight. The world would have lost much. Google Padre Pio, and war airplanes. He stopped BOMBINGS of innocent people. Now, wouldn’t it have been great for Satan if that could have happened? Padre Pio’s stigmata outed (after the fact) people within the church that were weak. Oh, what a cue!!! The Pope sent people to report on the stigmata, and they LIED! They said he was faking! I don’t think we should equate power of position with a strong soul. Power of position lead Satan to Opportunities. So, he may attack the Stong souls. With all his might if he sees it’s worth it. But he may rather just lead a weak soul right to the top. His little puppet perhaps.
Don’t forget that even Jesus had Judas among him. The lesson. Evil is sitting right NEXT to you. And you may have inadvertantly chosen to trust it. It happens. EVEN Jesus did the same thing. But how we respond to that Evil… That’s what Satin is counting on. He’s HOPING! How are you going to respond when something bad happens. Will you turn to your beloved Judas and forgive him(her?)??? Satan would like it if you didn’t! Jesus showed us that we can fight evil when we’re faced with it… wow!
