In The Old Testament, The Kingdom of David was organized in an interesting way.

There was The King.
The Queen Mother. Who was an intercessor. and brought the people’s needs to her son who was the king.

12 Ministers (correct?)
1 of the 12 was The Prime Minister (correct?) Given The Keys of The Kingdom (correct?)

This is How The Catholic Church is organized!

Our Lord, Jesus Christ, Is The King of Kings.

His Mother, Our Lady, The Virgin Mary. Is The Queen Mother. She helps us, and as Queen has access to The Infinite Graces in Heaven. Our Lady, brings us closer to Our Lord, Jesus Christ Her Son.

The 12 Disciples are The 12 Ministers.
Saint Peter, The first Pope. Is The Prime Minister. The Pope is The Successor of Peter.

The writers of the NT used many of the stories and ‘prophesies’ of the OT to “flesh out” the story of Jesus in the gospels. It is no big surprise that the emerging proto-orthodox/catholic faction of Christianity used parallels from the Hebrew scriptures to model their structure with.

No…to me it “proves” quite a different understanding…namely as the proto-orthodox/catholic gained prominence as the dominant version of Christianity, they borrowed the same myth and structure from the Hebrew scriptures that the earlier gospel writers employed as well.

The Catholic church is the one, true church that Christ intended to exist after His ascension into heaven and of which He left Peter as its first pope…263 popes later to Pope Benedict XVI. And the gates of hell have not and will not prevail against her.

Historically, the Catholic Church was the original Christian Church, and the only Christian Church for the first 1000 years. In 1054 A.D., the Orthodox split off. And, in 1517 A.D., the Reformation gave Protestantism its start, and has since splintered into literally thousands of denominations.

That is not just a “belief” the New Tetament Scriptures were not written until the Church was well underway. So one need to read about the early Church Fathers in the 1st 100 years of the Church. Writings from the Apostles, and those who were taught directly by those Apostles. If you read there writings and instructions to the churches it is very clear that they were Catholic, and more than that, although not identical if a Catholic today were to go to one of those early Masses in the beginnings of the Church he would recognize that he was at Mass.

Exactly. To be a 100% faithful Catholic one must believe the CC’s interpretation of Herself. Believe the ECFs had everything correct and believe history was recorded entirely correctly. A leap of faith is required by any measure.

How about Elaine Pagels who is best known for her studies and writing on the Gnostic Gospels and her belief that Paul of Tarsus was a Gnostic Christian. Then there is John Dominic Crossan, a former Catholic Priest who suggests Jesus was an illiterate Jewish cynic from a landless peasant background, initially a follower of John the Baptist. Crossan believes in “resurrection” by faith but holds that bodily resuscitation was never contemplated by early Christians. And Marcus J. Borg is among the most widely-known and influential voices in progressive Christianity and liberalism.

I will put my trust and faith in what Christ instituted and not some Johnny come lately.

As I would expect you to…your belief in your church is commendable…I place no such trust in your church or it’s pious history that is teaches concerning itself. I find the authors I have listed to be much more credible.

The “pristine” singular Christian church never existed in the first century…the “proto-orthodox/catholic” faction of the people called Christians developed it’s historical myth beginning in the second century as it sought to become the dominant version of Christianity.

Where in the Bible does it say, “if you disagree with any of the Church’s teachings, you can break off and start your own church, with the Word of God edited to your liking?”

I love it when Protestants say the Catholics added books to the Bible, when it was Luther, Calvin, et al that REMOVED books from the Bible.

Anyone who insults the Catholic Church insults God, His Bride, and the Apostles.
