Does time have a beginning?

In physics, spacetime (or space–time; or space/time) is any mathematical model that combines space and time into a single continuum.
Space is actually not a continuum since there is a smallest distance which is called the planck distance. But time is a continuum.
 
Ok lets cut to the chase do you accept general relativity?

You see the poster was not talking about time as a constant which we use to measure rates of change etc. He was asking about** the origin of time**, time as we know it is a property of the universe in the form of SPACETIME.

Time being relative is irrelevant.

And Einstein only taught that all measurements are related. Any logician could have told them that in a matter of minutes. Scientists go through extraordinary measures and struggles to discover simple logic sometimes.

But Einstein, not being a logician or even experienced philosopher stated that “all THINGS are relative”, which is false. Only in physics are “all measurements”, “all things”.

Logic is NOT relative. Quantitative mathematics is NOT relative. Identities are NOT relative. Basically everything conceptual is not relative. Einstein was “speaking out of school”. Space does not “bend”. The very concept is illogical. How can something be said to be bent unless there is a “straight” to compare it to? He merely meant that light doesn’t travel in a straight line as we have always thought nor are objects as square as we thought. OBJECTS are bent, not space.
 
I can move forward in my car and I can move in reverse. One is D, and the other is R.
Yes you are moving through spacetime, reverse is only backward by your local coordinates. These are irrelevant.

But Albert Einstein was at first wrong about the cosmological constant.

Regardless, you cannot move backwards in time. Let me see how you will do it. You can only go one way in time, but in space, you can go backwards or forwards and retrace your steps. You cannot go back in time.

Well actually. as far as i am aware the current theory is still spacetime does infact warp. It is warped by gravity.

The fact that you refer to a direction as backward in relation to you local coordinates is utterly irrelevant, you are STILL JUST MOVING THROUGH SPACE TIME.

You can p(name removed by moderator)oint a place in space and once that point is p(name removed by moderator)ointed, it is possible in the real world to be at a positive or negative distance from that point. You are not moving here, just p(name removed by moderator)ointing the position in space. With time, you can be only at a postive distance from a past time. You can never go back in time and change things.

True, although you can fake it out one of 2 ways;
  1. Rewrite history (the most popular these days)
  2. Reverse the direction of all things such that they return to a prior state (would be seriously tricky).

No it is not. Imagine you are in a car driving, when have you ever NO MATTER THE DIRECTION, seen a road sign that says next city -33 miles!

Yeah well, when you start speaking for NASA, let me know. I have worked for them. I doubt that you have.
And? Are you denying that report provides supporting evidence for the theory that mass warps spacetime???

Your example of -33 on a sign is truly ridiculous.
Regardless of how you deny it, with space there is no preferred direction, you have the possibility of up, down, left right,forward or backward. That is not true with time. With time, you have one and only one direction and that is forward. Time has an arrow of direction which cannot be reversed. This is not true of space.

I really don’t see what is so hard to grasp. Up, down, left and right are relative to the object.

Ok let me put it to you this way, you are moving through space (the direction is irrelevant) and i pause time. Do you stop moving? Now i reverse time, what direction are you now moving?
