I wasn’t sure what you meant by paten either because we do use what we call a “paten” every day in our daily Mass. It is the plate that the bread is placed to be offered in the Consecration. I am not sure what you call that plate with a handle under the chin of the communicant when receiving Holy Communion.
To confirm the name of what we call a “paten” is correct I went on <advent.org> and looked up the definition. Check it out and I would like to know the name of the plate with the handle attached and placed under the chin of the communicant. Thanks. To further clarify on our Sunday Liturgies we use a communion bowl because of the amount that is placed in it and for the safety of it’s content. Thanks again
