I have seen TLMs where there are basket by the doorway for women who may have forgotten (
) their veil. Does your EF offer this? If so, does it help?
No. My EF does not offer this because veils are still not required even at the EF. Therefore, nothing has been āforgottenā if a woman shows up without a veil.I have seen TLMs where there are basket by the doorway for women who may have forgotten () their veil. Iām curious about this - for full disclosure, Iām not religious and never have been. As I understand it, in Catholicism wearing a head-covering is a personal decision and not something that can be required. So how can it be obligatory? Am I mis-understanding anything (which is very possibleWe have a non-diocesan TLM where head-covering is obligatory.
Yeahā¦Iām not okay with this. Iām all for veiling for those who choose to do so. But the Church Herself doesnāt require it. This feelsā¦Protestant in its focus on making its own rules. We have a non-diocesan TLM where head-covering is obligatory. Women will be approached and required to wear, or else escorted out. They get 100% compliance, and I donāt think any have had to leave. But still ⦠it cuts against our current culture.
An example, for a time (I think still) women are not permitted with certain attire to enter St. Peterās Basilica. For a time, (maybe still) they had to be veiled even after Vatican II.As I understand it, in Catholicism wearing a head-covering is a personal decision and not something that can be required. May I ask what a non-approved TLM is? Why does it not comply with a bishop (apologies for the de-rail)?non-approved TLMs. Not compliant with bishop.
I havenāt yet met a woman who is afraid of veils.. The younger women and girls have no such phobias.
That is good. I wouldnāt think that there should be any, but unfortunately.I havenāt yet met a woman who is afraid of veils.
Women never had to be veiled, even before Vatican II. Many, many women wore hats. For a time, (maybe still) they had to be veiled even after Vatican II.
But unfortunately what?I wouldnāt think that there should be any, but unfortunately
