That’s often true in general, but not always. I have had an unbaptized person who went to Catholic school growing up, and then people who were baptized Catholic but never actually practiced or had any sort of faith formation at all.
It sort of warms my heart to see people coming from so many different places, but nonetheless all desiring to be Catholic and draw closer to Christ.
Of course the truth is that no one, cradle Catholic or adult convert, ever receives too much catechesis and/or formation. We all need continual formation whether before receiving our sacraments or afterwards.
