before i get to you first question, i’ll address this:

Irrespective, your argument is that dead people cannot pray, therefore you cannot ask for their intercession, I am pointing out that according to your own religion, they can pray.
wrong, our argument is not that the dead cannot pray. our argument, if you have been paying attention to the numerous posts in this thread posted by muslims, is that the dead cannot hear your calls and invocations. so your arguments and objectives still do not aid you.

nice try, but your lack of understanding regarding the issue is as clear as day.

Dead people cannot hear you? Then what were they doing in Jannah or for that matter did the prophet go schizophrenic and was hearing voices.

I can see that you are struggling to deal with this argument, so I shall not press it further.

🙂

However for the record, can dead people pray or not?

and people having their souls in jannah necessitates that they can hear you?

not at all. however, you do seem to be struggling to deal with the issue, as is clear from the confusion and flawed sense of logic you’re displaying.

whether they can pray or supplicate is not the issue. the issue is whether or not the dead can hear your calls. and they cannot.

Then what do you think of the conversations that happen in jennah, between musa and mohammed regarding the number of prayers, as also the ibrahim leaning agaisnt the bayt al-ma`mur?
they occurred just as is mentioned in the story, that is what i believe. and i know what you’re trying to get at, and like i said, this story does not aid you in the least. first of all, it was a miracle and a sign of prophethood that Allah bestowed upon His final messenger. secondly, prophet muhammad was taken to jannah physically and met the prophets - he was in their company. you are not in jannah, nor are you in the presence of the saints that you supplicate to.

anyhow, this will be my last post regarding this topic, inshaa’allah. it’s clear that you’re clutching at straws to salvage your argument against what islam dictates.

btw, unrelated to this topic somewhat… but what happened to your wishing to discuss how christians adhere to tawheed? hah.

He did try to discuss it. No one has responded to his last post. Hawk isn’t the one who dropped the topic.

People on both sides are starting to speak past one another; either not recognizing or reading closely what the other has said or choosing not to do so.

Thanks to all who participated in this thread and especially for the generally civil and charitable nature of the discussion, even when in disagreement with one another. I think the thread has run its course and further discussion would seriously risk a downturn in civility.

This thread is now closed.
