It seem about the only position left that didn’t have a thread of it’s own
I rest my but or my caseI laughed out loud on that one!!
What about breaking apart the kneeling thread, do you kneel straight up and down or do the knees bent rear resting on the pew?
Do you race back to your pew or walk very slowly trying to remember where it is?
Now who was I sitting with? Was I first or last and I didn’t recieve the wine so do I wait?
For the others to come in. Ahh now I am kneeling, relief I can pray>
The worst occasion is I wanted to receive from Father so I crossed way over and then forgot where I came from, just plump sat down nearest and then relized I was in some one elses place**oh oh not my purse. **Oh my then I feel like jumping
Now if I do this I just sit in the far back and notice before communion where there is an empty place. But then I saw the perplexed look on the people looking for me to return. Oh well it worked out.
I am of the opinion that jumping-jacks are OK as long as one does them facing liturgical east …I always have to look for my purse to find my pew. Then they started making an announcement that we shouldn’t leave our purses in the pew because there had been some thefts at area churches.
I hate carrying my purse up to communion–it just doesn’t seem right–so I would leave it locked in the car. Then I could never be sure I’d gotten to the right pew!! It would have helped if my pew-mates had been doing jumping jacks!!!
No, that is a lardturgical abuseEven worse, our overweight deacon has delegated leading the pre-dismissal push-ups to a layman, which I believe is a liturgical abuse.
At least now you can find your car!I hate carrying my purse up to communion–it just doesn’t seem right–so I would leave it locked in the car. Then I could never be sure I’d gotten to the right pew!!
Haha. I’m totally like that. Normally I go on Saturday night with my grandfather, and we sit in the third row, always. We get there an hour early just to get that seat. Something about the lighting and the sound being better in that row. I’ll determine that when I get older and my eyesight and hearing start to go.Do you race back to your pew or walk very slowly trying to remember where it is?

A few weeks ago the priest at mom’s church, I take her, (he somewhat reserved priest) gave a resounding homily about keeping in God we trust, saying it was spoken and written in the constitution. Amen there were a lot and cat whistles and cheers oh my never before heard this. Her priest got all red faced but felt good I think about it. They all cheered for a couple minutes. It only took a few good men no pun intended to get it going. Some time ago I suggested a wave of hooah cheers - three times around the congregation (in honor of the Trinity). It’s not prohibited by the rubrics and would certainly get the Spirit moving and spice up that dull drab Mass.
Unfortunately, the troglodytes taking control of the Mass and the Church in it’s headlong dive back to the Dark Ages refuse to give any ear! Perhaps instead of “Hooah” “Hoya” would placate them and we could move forward in the Spirit of Vatican II into the sunshine of the liturgical three fold wave?
Think it would work?
Yes Sister I use some eye catchers too. Most don’t carry purses ither. I like my rosary in my pocket, if I have one so I can pray that after, believe me our priest is slow and there is almost enough time.I always have to look for my purse to find my pew. Then they started making an announcement that we shouldn’t leave our purses in the pew because there had been some thefts at area churches.
