No, actually 1 Samuel 15 made that assertion…
Ok.

So you are retracting your assertion that this was commanded by God?

(For I am certain you are aware that while there are things that are RECORDED in Scripture as occurring, this is NOT THE SAME thing as saying that God commanded this and endorsed this, yes?)

Is this not your post? (My bold)
**God himself commanded **that the Israelites utterly destroy the Amalekites in a manner that was not inconsistent with Hiroshima and Nagasaki - "“put to death both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey”. Were God’s commands immoral? The Amalekites were horrible people who attempted to subvert God’s chosen people and turn them from their divinely mandated path.

Honestly, I have never really understood the directions that Clinton-threads go in. :hmmm:

Its a stinking swamp and swallowing bog of deceitful and downright traitorous acts that have been committed.

Forthcoming indictment is closing in for Hillary’s endangerment of our national security.

A following indictment will be over financial crimes while Secretary of State.

The uranium sale to the Russians is not going to go away but HRC has been giving it the same game plan. Guess it had something to do with her reset button!

Why do you keep asserting that I am retracting my statement that the Bible clearly states what the Bible states?

It does not simply state that the the slaughter happened; it clearly states that God commanded that it should be done: "This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. 3 Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’”

There are passages in the Old Testament that describe horrible things that different people did that are descriptive, but not commanded by God. This is not one of those passages.

There are also passages that are lyrical or hyperbolic, but are relating an essential truth. This could be one of those passages, but I am not going to try to judge or claim to definitively know the will of God. Our God is a God of Love, but also of Justice. And at times, as recorded in the Bible, He judged entire nations.

It is one of the great mysteries, as is Hillary Clinton herself.
Well anyhow, assuming this great mystery is going to be the next POTUS, I wonder if she willing to work with Congress and not take a “my way or the highway approach”. One would certainly hope so, considering how high her negatives are among the American people.

I fear the answer to that will be “Well of course she’ll be willing to work with Congress, just like Obama has been willing to work with Congress!”

:roll eyes sarcastically:

Her supporters keep claiming she will be an excellent President. Yet when asked how she will work with a republican congress, they remain silent. How can one be an excellent president if they are not willing to work with the opposition?

It would be easy if the opposition learns that corruption is the only game in town. Unfortunately, congress people can be pretty fast studies.

To be candid, I think Hillary would be light years ahead of Obama in this regard. I just don’t like the direction she would go, and her lack of ethics.

I have had a problem with her ethics since the cattle futures scandal. I probably don’t like the direction she would go, but she is not very specific in her proposed policies. But the one thing that is obvious, is that she has no experience working with republicans.

The cattle futures and taking $200,000 worth of items from the WH when they moved out. And then there are the many others shady things that follow her.

🍿

I would be wary of trusting polls either way. They change constantly, everything that happens affects them on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. But the fact is the numbers are there for either Trump or Clinton to prevail. Just depends on who votes in November.
I’m with you. I don’t care a fig about what the polls say in early May. The polls in late October and early November – that’s another story.

I found it illuminating at the Democratic debate when asked whom they considered their worst enemy, Jim Webb said the Viet Cong that threw a hand grenade at him, but Hillary said it was the Republican Party.

Honestly, if Webb got the nomination and ran against Trump, I would consider voting for Webb instead of Trump. There’s been talk of Trump reaching across party lines and asking Webb to be his VP, but I don’t think that’s likely. It would be an interesting ticket, though.

Love his music.

Which candidate promotes brotherly love more, and is more humanitarian overall? Brotherly love should be the top value which our society is based. It is the central value for Jews and Christians (I’m not sure how the Muslims view brotherly love).

Yes, and we need the real freedom and tolerance where love operates truly, not mandated love and dictated tolerance. Until we get out of this, the nation cannot heal and stand in its original purpose, intent.
