@Cathoholic, I don’t believe Trump is truly pro-life. I think he’s using the unborn for his own personal and political benefit.

I also find it strange, admittedly, that someone can share concerns about Trump’s truthfulness in this area and acknowledge the failure of the Democratic party to do anything pro-life/anti-abortion, and only hear something in the range of “why do you hate the pro-life movement?!” in response. I’m not saying this is your response to me – but i get it often enough.

I believe in the consistent life ethic. I am deeply, deeply disturbed by Trump’s failures in so many truly pro-life areas.

As I said.
I don’t “hate Trump so much that will work against putting an end to abortion to see him snubbed.” I don’t believe he’s going to put an end to abortion. I don’t even believe that’s a goal for him.

Just a friendly reminder… We would be having a very different conversation today had Hillary been president for the last 3 years.
The prolife movement would be under her heal.

This is true. However, we wouldn’t be discussing the myriad of other life-related issues on which Trump has failed.

Nevertheless, he has done more for the pro life position then any president in history.

If he can do so much without it being a goal, it must make him very effective.
I completely disagree with the premise.

I felt sick about this march. On the one hand, it’s always a blessing to see so many publicly opposing abortion. May God be with them. On the other, I believe Trump’s presence was 1) politically motivated, and 2) will taint the message of the march making it unlikely that it will be separated from MAGA.
I tried telling a couple of people about the march today. While that don’t necessarily align with the pro-life position they were interested in hearing about it until I mentioned that the President also spoke at it. To quote one of the people “I don’t want to hear anything he has to say.”

I believe in the consistent life ethic too.

And I think that term has been hijacked to mean something it doesn’t.

But that would be for another thread.

The Democrats (the politicians nationally) are all about abortion.

It’s an uncomfortable fact for democrats.

And I know that because I personally experienced it in the early beginnings of abortion-evangelism within the Democrat party many years ago.

It doesn’t matter what “Democrat program”
you think will help
if you are killed-off in an abortion
before your life gets a chance to even get out of the womb.

That’s WHY the bishops tell us abortion is the “preeminent” priority.
I am deeply, deeply disturbed by Trump’s failures in so many truly pro-life areas.
Well hopefully your guys collectively will be
“deeply deeply disturbed” enough to change
the party abortion platform,
run the pro-aborts out of the party,
and put up Pro-Life candidates.

The March For Life is a GOP fest now crowned with the appearance of Trump.

I am Pro-Life but there is no place for me at the March for Life.

Feanor2 . . . .
The March For Life is a GOP fest now
Then change it by getting Pro-Life Democrat candidates and get rid of the Abortion hustlers.

That seems petty to me.If you are pro life then why does the presidents being pro life get in the way for you?

I feel much the same way. Trump’s problems are of such magnitude that it’s impossible for me to reconcile the pro-life movement aligning with him.

Only the pure should be welcomed to support the pro life cause. All other support should be rejected.
Only the pure what? I thought no one is pure. I’m certainly not. Am I not allowed because I’m an agnostic? Sorry but it would help if you explained this a bit better…Thank you.
