The fetus is, by definition, a human being. The intentional taking of a human being’s life is, by definition, intentional homicide. Therefore, abortion is intentional homicide.

God bless President Trump!

I tried telling a couple of people about the march today. While that don’t necessarily align with the pro-life position they were interested in hearing about it until I mentioned that the President also spoke at it. To quote one of the people “I don’t want to hear anything he has to say.”
Then you need new pro-life friends. How can someone claim to be pro-life and filled with hate? It sounds as though they are afraid to listen directly to Trump without the msm filters. Who knows, they may start to agree with him if they heard a speech that wasn’t prefaced with some talking head at CNN or CBSN.
I know this is the narrative that Trump fans prefer but actually all I have to do is read Trump’s own Twitter feed to feel outraged. And most Americans aren’t watching any cable news network. CAF is kind of a quaint throwback populated by an interesting but very small subset of the population. Most folks aren’t getting their news in the way people here might expect – and certainly not as conservative talking heads expect.

I’m with the people who think Trump taints the prolife movement. How can a person accused of sexual assault by so many women, who commits adultery, who brags of assaulting women, be good for the prolife cause?
Because most of us who support President Trump get the concept of throwing the first stone and glass houses.

:raising_hand_woman: I’ve never sexually assaulted anyone. I’ve never been accused of assaulting anyone. I’ve never bragged about grabbing someone by his or her genitals.

Uhm, wow. I don’t think anyone that’s part of this CAF discussion has ever done or been accused of the things Trump has. I haven’t even been pulled over by the police in 40 years.

YOu get a gold star for this post. I don’t care if he was sincere or not. The fact is, he has delivered, and has “walked the walk.” Would I like a avowed Christian President? Of course. We had one, BTW. 1976-1980. I was in my early 20’s I voted for him. Wonderful man. Not such a good president. Did nothing for the pro-life cause.
Funny how no one ever questions the political motivations of the Democratic politicians who speak at Planned Parenthood rallies, etc.
Speaking of current Democratic candidates, every single one of them supports abortion on demand throughout all nine months and even after the baby is separated from the mother paid for by our tax dollars. They all support no exceptions for doctors or nurses who do not want to participate in abortion or for insurance companies who do not want to cover abortifacients or abortion.
And they all 20 of them do this in lockstep without exception. At least once upon a time Joe Biden supported the Hyde amendment- but no more.
And I’m supposed to vote for one of these people, because Trump is icky?
Granted, I don;t agree with every thing Trump says or does, but I agree even less with what the Dems are supporting and pushing now. This is not my Grandparents or even Parents Democratic party.

Well I guess you both are able to throw the first stone and live in a glass house. I believed my priest when he spoke about all of us being sinners. Good to know there are perfect people like our Blessed Mother still roaming the earth.

I’m a sinner and need to make use of the sacrament of reconciliation to obtain absolution. My understanding is all of us sinners are able to receive God’s mercy when we sin. Silly me, I thought that is what Jesus did intended during his passion. I had no idea Donald Trump was excluded from that.

Thank you for expanding my Catholic education on the truth of Christ’s sacrifice.

Ok, I can’t be the only one who remembers the interview by Chris Matthew with Candidate Trump. In it he said women should have to go to those illegal places to get an abortion.
MATTHEWS: Well, no, I’m asking you because you say you want to ban it. What’s that mean?

TRUMP: I would – I am against – I am pro-life, yes.

MATTHEWS: What is ban – how do you ban abortion? How do you actually do it?

TRUMP: Well, you know, you go back to a position like they had where people will perhaps go to illegal places
That’s one reason I didn’t vote for him.

Please ask your priest if we’re able to be critical of murderers. Or rapists. Or genocidaires.

I think that we obtain god’s mercy not, “when we sin”, but through confession and absolution - ie when we ask for forgiveness. I am not sure what would happen if we were we to decline to ask for foregiveness.

“Genocidaires.” Great description of pro-abortion politicians and those who support them.

Thank you, I will. However, knowing all the priests I’ve had the pleasure of knowing over the years, I’m certain I will be told my role is to love the sinner, to show them mercy. It’s fine to hate the sin but we must love the sinner.

According to you it seems there are priests who will say it’s okay to hate the sin and hate the sinner. To get a clear answer maybe you can let me know where you are so I can contact your priest to ask this question.

I know I’ve committed sins. I was away from the church for many years.

But, I needed a background check to volunteer at my kids school. Everyone does. You know that Mrs. Jones in math class, or father bill, or Mr Smith the gym teacher would not be permitted to stay if the same allegations came out.

Imagine someone around your kids said what he said about grabbing women, or settled a case with a woman he grabbed under the table in the same fashion? Or forcibly kissed a reporter? Or raped another reporter?

No one here has claimed to be without sin. But we’re certainly free to criticize the president’s sins, particularly when he’s never acknowledged or apologized for them. I’d expect your priest, if he’s halfway decent, to say the same. It is good to know, though, that when those you oppose politically sin, you’ll be anxious to defend them.

Come on.

I am simply saying that I do not support him because of his alleged or admitted behavior. You are saying, what? You don’t believe the admissions and allegations or, since we are all sinners, you don’t care?

Perfect.

In the case of “candidate Trump,” not yet President Trump, I wasn’t totally sold on his commitment to the pro-life cause. Politicians might say anything to be elected.

But when somebody has actually been in office and delivered on the issue, I’m convinced of that person’s sincerity. In the text of his speech (posted by another poster) he outlined all he’s done for the cause.

Once somebody’s been in office and “put his money where his mouth is,” even to his own possible political disadvantage, I stop questioning his motive.

Hate the sins.

This is between President Trump and God. Remember public confession was done away with hundred’s of years ago.
I’d expect your priest, if he’s halfway decent
So now my priest is a bad priest? Should I tell you what diocese I live in so you can let the bishop know we have a less than “decent” priest in my parish?
It is good to know, though, that when those you oppose politically sin, you’ll be anxious to defend them.
You can be certain I will never condemn a person to hell for their past sins.

Genocidaires are those who acted as perpetrators in the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. As much as you want to, it doesn’t make sense to simply borrow that term and apply it to those supporting abortion. Words have meaning.

I’m saying I follow Christ’s words about fellow sinners. I follow Church teaching regarding fellow sinners. I’m saying God has not given me delegation to determine the state of another’s soul.
