Wasn’t Trump rather good friends with both Hillary and Bill before the election, and probably even after? I’ll never forget the television interview after he won the presidency when Trump said he didn’t want to hurt either of them because they are GOOD people. Don’t you think the disparaging comments during the election were all a (reality) show? As I’ve said several times before, IMO they are three peas in a pod, similar to food brands that use different names but are part of the same corporation. Only Sanders is the odd man out. Bernie for 2020! LOL
I know it was a while ago, but weren’t they at Donald and Melania’s wedding?

Politics can make for some strange relationships. I believe George HW Bush and Bill Clinton are also quite good friends.

Hard to know. Politics and business often make strange bedfellows. I, for example, don’t tell people “let’s do lunch sometime” as if I meant it and as if they believed it would happen, but in some circles, some do.

How did Fitzgerald put it? “The very rich are different from you and me…” Perhaps they are, and perhaps the powerful are too.

Truth is, we “ordinary types” don’t know how they interact.

It was rhetorical and meant to silence you on your judgmental attitude towards those who voted Trump.
Oh, I get it. You mean like in Matthew 22:15-46

:hmmm: Well, at least you’re honest about it now.

However, in the future you might want to reconsider whose tactics you chose to model in the Bible.

Maneuvering to make junior the fall guy.
I can’t see Trump going along with that. Despite all his other faults, he’s pretty proud of his kids (except for Tiffany). He’s also big into his name and dynasty.

That’s why I think the Russians are ultimately behind all the hacking and leaking. Putin didn’t support Trump during the election because he admires the man. He wanted to get something out of it - lifting of sanctions & more political chaos in the United States.

I think slowly taking Trump down works in Russia’s interests.

One thing is for certain. Somebody close to Trump is responsible for the leaks.

They say politic is the art of the possible. There are no enemies in politic only adversaries and no relationship is permanent.

Do you know for sure Trump’s campaign was ever asked whether they were ever approached by a Russian who had nothing to tell them? If not, then it’s just wrong to accuse everybody in the Trump campaign of “lying”.
I’m sorry, is that the game we’re playing? The question has to be asked perfectly or lying about it is ok? It depends on the definition of is is?
And I’ll say again, if somebody approached any reasonably loyal American saying they had “source” evidence of very serious crimes in high places in government, he/she would be derelict in refusing it.
And I’ll say again that the emails did not indicate that it was information about serious crimes, but rather ‘dirt’. And I’ll say again that it is not someone that is a rank amateur like Donald Trump Jr’s responsibility to find out what that is, but rather responsible law enforcement officers.
If the Russki lawyer really had evidence of a quid pro quo connecting Russian payment of millions to the Clintons and the sale of 20% of America’s uranium reserves to Russia, anybody who cared a thing about his country would want it brought forward.
What did Trump Jr say he would have done if Veletsnitskaya had the real stuff? He said he would have taken it to the authorities. So would I. So would most any American worth the powder it would take to blow his nose.
And, again, the deflection. Yes, I’m sure that DJT would have taken that information right to the appropriate authorities. Please, that’s laughable. Is that the current right wing talking point and are people seriously buying it? Because I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn…

Yes, I am honest. And I would suggest you take your own advice before you dish it out.

Keep in mind that “someone inside the White House” would include Trump Jr himself, as hacked previously at Trump Tower. Like all unattributed anti-Trump “news”, these things are not dated. Possibly that’s what the reference really is. Emails sent and received from Trump Tower would not ordinarily be in the White House for some “deep stater” to purloin. They would, however, be at Trump Tower.

There might be much less “leaking” and a lot more “tapping” and “hacking” than we have been led to believe. After all, the DNC did hire a professional “spy service” to spy on the Trump campaign. That’s admitted. And they might still be on the payroll, for all we know.

It’s too bad the Dems have disabled the FBI from investigating anything but Trump and perhaps not even him. Mueller and CrowdStrike seem to be the replacements.

Y’know, if I was a Dem partisan like you, I would consider this: If the left treats Trump, his family and his associates with the viciousness they do, what in the world makes you think they think any better of you? Why do you think you’re not held in the same contempt as the “deplorables” and “bitter clingers” who are more like you than you are like those elites who utter such epithets in unguarded moments?
What did I say that brought this on? Suggesting that this is a very leaky administration?

Btw, I am sure that there are those who think I am deplorable. After all, I was baptized at two weeks, I say the rosary for the living and the dead (which if you don’t mind please say one for my brother Sam who would have been 60 today, and for my brother Michael, who would have been 59 tomorrow, if you have time), both my daughters think I am a pretty good mom and they were baptized as babies, I think the U.S. is the best, no matter who is the President, I believe in freedom of religion for all, not just WASP’s (being of Irish extract and R.C. to boot, leaves me out), I definitely qualify as not acceptable to many and have been since the day I was born. But I am good with all of that.

So call me deplorable 👍

Why do you keep looking to the past?

Kushner and Trump Jr by their actions have demonstrated that they are either incompetent and/ or naive.

Their security clearance should be revoked, and they should be fired. If they were not related to Sr., they would have been.

It’s really that simple.
Just pointing out the hypocrisy!

That would be odd, considering that Kushner is the only one who would face prosecution over this as he has now lied three times on his security clearance form about meetings with Russians.

However, the leaks are definitely coming from inside the White House, which means a Republican is responsible.
You don’t know that for sure.

Just a general question.

When did the Republican party stop being the party of personal responsibility?

And Chelsea and Ivanka were close friends although I heard awhile back they had not
spoken since the election.

I freely admit I am a sinner in need of the Lord’s mercy and salvation. However, I do my best to be faithful to the gospel and encourage my fellow Christians to do the same.

When Pope Francis said “A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian. This is not the gospel,” - that pretty much settled it for me, but other folks hardened their hearts and refused to heed his warning.

Who is to blame for the fact that Trump, rather than John Kasich, is currently occupying the White House? Not liberals or the Democrats. It’s the Trump supporters who voted for him in the primaries and who continue to support him today.

**Pope: Donald Trump ‘is not Christian’ if he wants to build a border wall **

But you are totally against Trump and his administration and will be thrilled if they
find a way to remove him from office.

Sources: Trump lawyers knew of Russia emails back in June
President Trump’s legal team was informed more than three weeks ago about the email chain showing that his son Donald Jr. met with a Kremlin-connected lawyer last June, two sources familiar with the handling of the matter told Yahoo News.
Trump told Reuters in an interview on Wednesday that he learned just “a couple of days ago” that his son, Donald Trump Jr, had met with the Russian lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, after receiving emails that she would supply him with information that “would incriminate Hillary” and was “part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.” That was the day after Donald Jr. released the email exchanges himself, after learning they would be published by the New York Times.
Trump repeated that assertion in a talk with reporters Air Force One on his way to Paris Wednesday night. “I only heard about it two or three days ago,” he said according to a transcript of his talk when asked about the meeting with Veselnitskaya at Trump Tower in June 2016 attended by Donald Trump Jr., Paul Manafort, then Trump’s campaign chief, and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
But the sources told Yahoo News that Marc Kasowitz, the president’s chief lawyer in the Russia investigation, and Alan Garten, executive vice president and chief legal officer of the Trump Organization, were both informed about the emails in the third week of June, after they were discovered by lawyers for Kushner, who is now a senior White House official.
But the information that Trump’s lawyers were told about the emails in June raises questions about why they would not have immediately informed the president. Trump’s campaign is under investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller into possible collusion with Russian government officials. The emails appear to be the first hard evidence of contacts between top campaign officials and someone connected to the Kremlin.
I guess we know now why the message coming from Trump surrogates and the right wing media changed from “there was no collusion” to “collusion isn’t illegal” a couple weeks ago.

So you say. However, you are wrong. I want him to concentrate on the business of the country, not on Ivanka’s business or the Trump Organization. I want him to encourage bi-partisanship. I want him to spend time reading up on bills. I want him to remove family members from positions of power (think Billy Beer and the White House ). I want him to be successful, but I will also hold him to high standards set by George Washington.

Please stop judging me because I dare to criticize the President. I was raised to believe that was one of the great things about my country, being able to disagree with the President and the government.

DOJ Settled Massive Russian Fraud Case Involving Lawyer Who Met With Trump Jr.
Democratic congressmen on the House Judiciary Committee want to know why Attorney General Jeff Sessions abruptly settled a money laundering case in May involving the same Russian attorney who met with Donald Trump Jr. during the presidential election to offer “dirt” on Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
The civil forfeiture case was filed in 2013 by Preet Bharara, the former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York — who was fired by Trump in March. The case alleged that 11 companies were involved in a tax fraud in Russia and then laundered a portion of the $230 million they got into Manhattan real estate.
The forfeiture case was heralded at the time as “a significant step towards uncovering and unwinding a complex money laundering scheme arising from a notorious foreign fraud,” Bharara said. “As alleged, a Russian criminal enterprise sought to launder some of its billions in ill-gotten rubles through the purchase of pricey Manhattan real estate.”
But Instead of proceeding with the trial as scheduled, the Trump Justice Department settled the case two days before it was due to begin. By then, Bharara had already been axed by the president. Bharara’s assistant did not immediately respond to request for comment.
The Russian attorney who uncovered the tax fraud scheme, Sergei Magnitsky, mysteriously died in prison. As a result, U.S. lawmakers passed the Magnitsky Act, which levied sanctions on Russian officials—sanctions that Natalia Veselnitskaya, a Russian attorney, worked to reverse.
Also the attorney representing the Russian companies in the DOJ case, Veselnitskaya, is the same one who organized a meeting with Donald Trump, Jr. and top Trump campaign officials in June 2016 to offer material that could “incriminate” Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. “Love it,” responded Trump, Jr. to an intermediary.
In May, the Justice Department settled the case for $6 million instead of $230 million and did not demand any admission of wrongdoing. According to the lawmakers’ letter to Sessions, Veslnitskaya was surprised by how generous the settlement was, telling one Russian news outlet the penalty appeared like “an apology from the government.”
I wonder why the Trump administration was so quick to let these Russian money launderers, represented by the attorney who met with Trump Jr., Kushner, and Manafort, off the hook so easily?
