In my opinion, the law says that if I took information from a foreign entity to influence an election, I would be committing a felony. Now, I’m not a lawyer, so I may be wrong, but you’re not a lawyer, so you could very well be wrong too. Frankly, it isn’t my responsibility, but that on the law enforcement and any good American would contact the FBI if such a situation were presented to them.
Ha what a joke. Where does it say that. US politics is all about finding dirt on your opponent. If this were true the Feds would need to figure out statute of limitations on this and start going down the line of elections to see who qualified for jail. When you spout this stuff it really only shows your ignorance of this whole situation.

Well, I think if someone brought me guns and said they were stolen, the first thing I would do is call the police. Then I’d give them to the police and wash my hands of it. So, the idea that somehow involving law enforcement was the wrong thing to do is laughable in my opinion and I really doubt that the ATF agent meant to make you feel that way.

Similarly, if someone came to me seeking to hand me information that would potentially involve me in a felony, I would call law enforcement and not say “I love it” and work to arrange a meeting. Which is what Donald Trump Jr did.
what felony?

Why would the Hillary campaign need to do that? Trump discredited himself with virtually every word he uttered.

If the former is true, you are essentially saying here that two wrongs make a right. Is that what you believe?
No I think what she is saying that, as usual, what Hillary did is a non-story.

Why are you asking me why they did it, when all I’m concerned with is that they did do it??? .

No, I’m saying that if you’re going to go after Trump Jr.and the president, then go after all those Hillary campaigners/Democrats and Hillary herself, who had no MORAL/LEGAL compunctions to use Russian government sources of mis/information to discredit Trump.

And if that doesn’t happen meltzerboy, well, then why the double standard, why condemn one man for the same actions of so many others on the opposing side??? ARE WE NOT EQUAL IN THE EYES OF THE LAW?

👍

I quoted that story more than several pages ago, and not a single one of those people condemning Trump Jr. read it and/or acknowledged it, interesting!!!
I don’t get how they want to ignore all the things Hillary is guilty of?!
Hillary and her campaign can do no wrong.
Like Trump says, it is a witch hunt.

Why, yes, since it’s about campaigners who used Russian mis/information to try to discredit the opposing presidential candidate!!!
Actually, it is about Donald Trump Jr’s emails. Perhaps you should open a new thread on your topic instead of trying to derail this one.

Actually what she posted was very relevant to this thread.

I, for one, am NOT ignoring Hillary and her wrongdoings. I have repeatedly condemned her email scandal. She got away with it thanks to Comey and the FBI, and who knows what other shenanigans on the part of Obama, Bill Clinton, and the DOJ. But the present story is NOT about Hillary or the double standard; it is about Trump, Jr. and (possibly) Trump and THEIR possible wrongdoing.

Patently? You argument on that point has been shown to be uninformed.
Yes, “patently false”, i.e., who shoots a person in the back during a robbery, and then steals nothing, but had time to hover over the victim?
LOL, Nice use of the passive voice. Who believes this? Not even the college sleuth club.
Actually, they did, and the NEWSWEEK article I read said that he could have been killed by a hired killer or a serial killer, however, Newsweek focused on the latter rather than the former.

And as I said earlier, the timing seems rather coincidental in that a DNC staffer was murdered days before a Wiki leak of incriminating emails from the DNC was made public.

It is another " nothing to see here folks, move on!" story.

Anything negative about the DNC, Hillary or Obama are off topic!

Please don’t try to limit the narrative of this thread, especially when the information I gave is pertinent to the overall discussion of foreign influence on American politics during presidential elections and its illegality/legality.

It needs to be said.

Because serial killers, spree killers, random killers are all rational.

4 young men were murdered in PA these past few weeks allegedly by a mentally ill person. For no real reason.

Still doesn’t explain why the police concluded initially that this was a “botched robbery”? Or were they too acting irrationally?

I think the Trump Jr story is a big nothing EXCEPT that I sure would like to know how the NYT got Trump Jr’s emails in the first place.

Trump Sr claimed Trump Tower was hacked or tapped or whatever it’s called nowadays. Rand Paul and Lindsay Graham claim they were too. Clearly, the Dem party had spies and hackers all over the place. To now pretend to get the vapors over Trump Jr wanting to know what the Russki had to offer is as disingenuous as it gets.

I think the Russians had Seth Rich assassinated in an effort to cleanup after themselves. That would be consistent with the way they operate. People who are a threat to Putin have a tendency to die untimely deaths. It would look really bad if this guy got caught and then testified against the Russians. Now he’s dead, so nothing to fear there.

Remember, Putin is former KGB who wants power and wealth. He will stop at nothing to make Russia great again. In order to do that, he has to undermine the United States. So he launches a cyber attack on our election and orders his agents to hack into the emails of both campaigns. He releases the Clinton emails to undermine her chances during the election and holds onto those of the Trump campaign in order to blackmail him in the future.

Trump has a meeting with Putin at the G20 - what do they discuss? We have no idea.

However, one thing is for certain, Congress took away Trump’s power to lift sanctions on Russia, so I can imagine the conversation going something like this…

“Donald, why do you keep hurting me like this? Remember when you were in trouble with money, Russia came to your rescue. Now you need to return the favor and lift those sanctions on Russia.” said Putin.

“I can’t do that,” Trump replies, “because Congress won’t let me”.

“Oh, that’s too bad. I would hate to see your family suffer. Try harder”.

Of course, Trump can’t lift the sanctions, so Putin then orders the operative he has planted in the White House to leak the confidential emails to the New York Times about the Trump campaign meeting with the Russian attorney in order to get dirt on Hillary. It’s just the tip of the iceberg on the information the Russians have collected against Trump, and more will continue to be “leaked” as long as Trump refuses to come clean to the American public about it all. Given Trump’s character, that is not likely to happen. Instead, he will fight it all the way and drag the GOP and his supporters further down the rat hole in their efforts to defend him.

Meanwhile, the United States has left a vacuum on the world stage that Russia will happily fill. Russia is great again!
