The "elite’ Super Delegates switched their votes from Hillary to Obama right quick in 2008 when it became clear that Obama was winning the popular vote and the delegate vote. They would do the same thing this year IF Sanders were ahead in popular and delegate counts. Alas, Sanders is WAY behind in both.

Everyone has known the Party rules for years. I find it more than a little nuts that Sanders now wants the Super Delegates he has been disparaging for months to switch over to him when he is so far behind (and as of last night, done) with the people and the delegates. Good grief - such nonsense!

Congratulations to Hillary Clinton, our next President!
I wouldn’t crown her just yet.

Just bc Trump is doing everything he can to lose, Hillary still has a small investigation pending.

No matter what the outcome there is, it will hurt her.

“I eat the cracker”???

Okay, so other churches don’t have the same theology of Communion that we do but they all regard it as sacred, not a cracker.

As for not needing forgiveness that smacks of “once saved, always saved”.

Mr. Trump made his first endorsement this campaign season for Rep. Rene Ellmers of North Carolina and she’s getting clobbered, coming in third.
I am curious why Trump endorsed her, but pro-life groups and others including the Club For Growth, have been been actively working against her.

I thought Donald Trump gave a really good speech. I think he will carry on to election day with this theme that the political system is rigged, that Bernie Sanders (and his voters) have been shortchanged through the super delegate system etc.

Very good speech tonight by Trump. Hopeful and strong. The distortion of Trump’s reasons for speaking out regarding an ongoing nuisance lawsuit have been straightened out. Leaves some people looking pretty foolish for spewing such vitriol towards him and the reason for doing so became quite transparent.

Interesting take on the situation.

Maybe. but people have been trying to nail her for at least 25 years. All they have come up with is innuendo.

That is true. Unfortunately for her, she has the Clinton last name. I wonder if things would had been different had she divorced Bill.

It’s funny how some insist in continuing this right-wing lie that Hillary Clinton is somehow stealing the Democratic nomination without understanding the simple math that she needs only about 30% of the eligible delegates tomorrow to win the majority of those selected directly in elections.
When did Bernie become right wing?

It’s funny how the right wing media and Bernie Sanders can’t do the math to realize that Hillary Clinton has won the majority of the delegates that were voted upon directly by the voters.

Senator Kirk from Illinois, who is in a tough reelection has seperated himself from Trump.

Senator Kirk is a vet. I wonder if trump or other conservatives will question his vet status.
Tip O’Neill used to say that all politics is local. I’m sure lot of people in down ticket races will decide that Trump is poison and others will decide to hitch their wagons to him.

As to whether Trump should have his finger on the button, one hardly needs to be a vet to feel that way.

There’s a great cover for the newest edition of the Daily News with a picture of Trump and Paul Ryan next to him pointing at Trump with the caption, “I’m With Racist.” Then underneath it says, “Ryan: Trump’s Mexican Judge rant is the definition of ‘racist,’ but I still support him.”

It’s funny how Ryan endorsed him last week, and a week later he’s trying to run as far as he can from Trump.

This is were you (Ryan) have to be a big man and say, is it even worth backing trump, considering how loose his words will be.

I think that was true in the 80s. Since the 2000s, i think that the person running for president for each party has had an influence on elections whether it was for house or senate.

2004, Bush got reelected and that helped republicans win more seats for the house and senate.

In 2008, Obama won the presidency and seats for the house and senate.

Today, a representative from NC who was endorsed by Trump, lost her reelection.

I don’t think Ryan (or most Republican politicians) can stand Trump. They are busy trying to figure out how to survive the next 5 months until Trump loses without tarnishing their own reputation or the Republican brand beyond hope. They know they are all in deep trouble if he does win.

You think the republicans are really hoping he loses?

I mean they are not really United, but I don’t think, Trump’s opponent until this week, have been really outspoken.

If they don’t want him to win, I would pull my money (RNC’s) and use it for the house, governor and senate races.

I think those in power as Republicans (i.e, Senators, Congressmen, Governors) don’t want him to win. For example, Ryan, if Trump loses, is the #1 Republican in the country as the Speaker of the House. He’s well positioned to be the poster boy for fighting the Clinton agenda and solidifying a run for the White House in 2020. If Trump wins, his power will be marginalized and he’ll probably spend a lot of time fighting with Trump which will win him little support.

Moving down the depth chart, do you want to be a Republican politician in a state with a rising Hispanic population with Trump as President? I’m looking at the entire southwest and thinking that he can alienate Hispanics enough to turn the whole region Democrat. And he doesn’t even have your back. He’s gone after Governor Martinez already. So, you have a loose cannon in the White House that might go off on you (with the cheering of his supporters) while helping to rally your enemies to vote against you.

No, these guys want him to lose, even if it cost them the Supreme Court for a generation.
