Unrelated to your comments about Trump, but that quote in your signature is offensive.
Agree. Galbraith does not know my heart, nor the hearts of my fellow conservatives who devote a lot of personal time and money serving the poor.

If that quote by that economist had the word “conservative” exchanged with “liberal”, I wouldn’t think that’s fair either. I don’t think making blanket statements about conservatives or liberals does good for civil discourse.
If we prohibited blanket statements about liberals or conservatives, these forums would much smaller.

I have no idea what your signature is or know what anybody else’s signature is. I turned off view signatures years ago. In fact I don’t even know what my signature is
This is your quote:
We ought to speak, shout out against injustices, with confidence and without fear. We proclaim the principles of the Church, the reign of love, without forgetting that it is also a reign of justice.
Kind of refutes Al’s assumption of what’s in your heart.

Indeed. Most conservatives tend to help on their own, by their own choice. It doesn’t have to be mandated through the government. And that’s what the so called progressives resent the most. How dare you make a choice on your own; they know what’s best for you!

And of course, liberals tend to be generous with other peoples money. 😉

On the other hand, many conservatives have no problem taking other people’s money. Just think when Medicare part D was implemented. That was a pure income transfer program and I don’t know of any conservative who refused to participate in the program on principle. That is an example of selfishness, although plenty of liberals were selfish in that regard as well.

It emphasizes what is often pointed out about Liberals. Conservative think Liberals are misguided, liberals think conservatives are evil.

We all created another issue here and its further compounded now by private big pharmacy issues in cost effective and reasonably priced comparable medication. This become by large contingent on private donations leading to political support such as with Oxycontin. Heres some perspective.

Never mind the facts that conservatives as whole are much more generous with their time, talent, money. But somehow we are branded as immoral. The problem I have with liberals is summed up by Obama’s own words, “It’s the right thing to do.” “I have a pen and a phone.” Really? I can’t disagree with you without being accused of not doing the right thing? The Obama administration is in full attack on faith based charities.

Our government funded public schools and social services are abysmal failures. As a result our society has become more hateful, divisive, uncivil. Obama actually brags about the increase in food stamp recipients. And we are asked to increase our funding of these failed institutions.

Our faith is being attacked as “repressive” interfering with women’s rights to kill their unborn children.

Think about how great our world would be if everybody got on their knees every morning to ask God what he wants us to do for him. If everybody got on their knees at night to thank God for the day’s work. Every Day.

Couldn’t agree more

I’m going to inquire to the moderator about that quote in your signature.
I have had that signature for quite a while and nobody has complained.

You beat me to it. I was thinking the very same thing (including about knowing what my signature is, most of the time). 🙂

I would only add that this thread is “Donald Trump selects Indiana Governor Mike Pence as VP”.

MODERATOR NOTICE

This thread is wandering. Please return to the topic of the original post.

Speaking of keeping your VP pick a secret, there was a great story on The Circus last night about how Romney/Ryan kept the Ryan pick under wraps in 2012.

Shortly after Romney selected Ryan, his team called Ryan to discuss ways to get him on a plane to Norfolk without alerting the press to his movements. Ryan suggested that he enter his home, put on camouflage, sneak out the back door and crawl across his backyard to be picked up by aids waiting to take him to the airport.

And that’s exactly what they did! The press was camped out in front of his house and after they saw him enter they waited and waited to see some sign that he was leaving again, ultimately reporting that he appeared to be in for the night. Meanwhile, Ryan was on a plane to Virginia having crawled across his back yard! 😛

I loved that story. The Circus is " must-see-tv" for political junkies, by the way, if you get “Showtime.” Lots of good stuff on last night’s episode. There was a cool “stake-out scene” at Pence’s house last week, too.

Thanks, I appreciate your thoughtfulness … though I’m not sure I care what Coulter has to say. :o
But I bet when she was an attack dog used by republicans in the 2004 presidential elections, you had high esteem for her???
