I was surprised at how happy I was to see states slip from Clinton’s grasp. I didn’t vote for Trump, but living in the middle of the country I do understand why people here were for him, and it has nothing to do with hate or racism or any of those other things. People are just really, really fed up with Washington.
I also think that if he approaches the office of President the way he made his victory speech, we may do a lot better than we thought. I do not think Clinton would have been so gracious.
So I’m cautiously optimistic, which surprises me as much as anyone else.

The cost of delivery vs the cost of abortion is just an excuse. That can be seen in countries where birth is the cheaper option.
Australia has an abortion rate similiar to the US. We have universal healthcare and a woman can have a free delivery in our hospitals. Most women do use public hospitals. Abortions have out of pockets around the $300 - $500 mark in a number of states. If you were right that it comes down to the cost of birth, then Australia would not have the number of abortions that we do.

I think that maybe ppl weren’t voting for Trump per se, but against Clinton and “business as usual” government. Trump worries me a bit because I think he’s a wild card, but I’m thrilled Clinton lost.
I think the media will be hounding his every step, so maybe that will help keep him in line. But more importantly, the American people need to make sure that we keep telling the newly elected government that they can’t return to status quo.
Our country still needs a lot of prayer.

What you call “just an excuse” is in actuality a valid reason – more specifically, a valid reason for any woman who looks at how EXPENSIVE it is to choose life and so she chooses to kill the baby instead because of how affordable it is by comparison.
Why can’t deliveries be $300-$500? If we truly want PRO-LIFE policies, why can’t deliveries be as convenient as abortions? The motive is essential in any murder case, yet when it comes to abortion, nobody wants to talk about the motive. I just don’t get it.

The point is that deliveries are free (100% covered) in other countries and yet, their abortion rate is similar. Abortion costs more out of pocket there.
Deliveries won’t be as convenient as abortions because pregnancy and delivery and recovery with an infant can be difficult, and those reasons have nothing to do with finances. I do think that disparity needs to be resolved in the US for sure, and unfortunately the lie that people “need” PP for women’s health is a major stumbling block to that.

There is always buyer’s remorse. No president maintains high approval ratings for four years. This election, the big difference it that Trump (an Hillary) both had low ratings going into the election. I assure you, she too would have disappointed her base as well.There will be a LOT of ‘buyer’s remorse.’ Just unbelievable.
On a specific note, I was looking at Texas. Besides the usual Democratic strongholds of the four big cities, the border counties had a Democratic majority. Trump’s wall has always been more popular for those who fear illegal immigration than those who actually live with illegal immigration. I am curious as to how this particular issue will play out in the future, once it is clear that Mexico will not pay for his plan.

The news came too late for most of the country, but there were some sporadic protests on the West Coast after the news was announced. Today I expect to see mass protests, roads shutdowns, and school walkouts. The left is not going to take this well.

I am surprised. Also pretty disgusted with Colorado right now. Assisted suicide passed with a big margin. The Bishops here have already come out and condemned it, good for them. I don’t think people realize that Compassion and Choices, the group which pushed the proposition, was the Hemlock Society. They just renamed themselves. Makes me sick to my stomach. “Have problems? Here, let’s help you jump off a bridge.”
I don’t think Colorado is a battle ground state anymore. Minimum wage increase to 12$ by 2020 also passed. Less than ten years ago I worked for 6.25 an hour. Should it really double in only fifteen years? Sheesh, no wonder housing is getting so unaffordable out here. Moving is a real possibility.

- Tons of jobs are still going to Mexico and India
- Those who hate us attack the us again because of the HUGE “Kick Me” sign put up again
- etc., etc.
In four years when Hillary Clinton hasn’t repealed the Hyde Amendment; nominated two, three, perhaps four radical Supreme Court Justices; initiated God knows what attacks on religious liberty via executive orders (I am sure Podesta is weeping that a newly created position such as Czar of the American Catholic Church has escaped his grasp); done God knows what with foreign policy that does nothing but apologizes for made up offenses (you should read Rodney Stark’s* God’s Battalions*, which sets the record straight about many myths about the crusades, myths that the liberal media and Obama can’t seem to use enough to excuse aggression against the west)…There will be joy among the faithful that we were spared her disgusting ultra-liberal agenda.
And a final note: when liberals begin to assess the repudiation of their policies, I hope one thing they consider is a cessation of couching abortion as a “health care issue”. It betrays an extreme level of intellectual dishonesty and wanton disregard for the intelligence of pro-life Americans.

None of this worked during the campaign and it won’t work now!Considering that every abortion is easily preventable through abstinence or illicit means like artificial birth control, I don’t see how it’s not a healthcare issue – is now a good time to ask why deliveries are still so obscenely expensive ($5-$6,000+) and abortions are so convenient (only $3-$400), or will affordable deliveries NEVER be part of the PRO-LIFE cause?
If you think someone who has praised Planned Parenthood for the “wonderful work” they do for women – “except for when it comes to abortion” – will help overturn Roe v. Wade, there’s some swamp land in Sheboygan I’d like to sell you.
