I was sitting in the dentist office today waiting to for the call to go back when I picked up a issue of “Ladies Home Journal” to read something about healthy heart issues.

Instead I came acoss a article titled Donor 401, a story how this donor fathered hundreds of babies through artifical insemination. The clinic said this guy was a very popular choice.

So I read on, and found a lady posted a note in the clinic wanting to know if anyone else used donor 401. Come to find out she got a boat load of responses. This guy has babies all over the country, and most of them favored, easy to see they came from the same man. Ages ranged from birth to 3 years. I never saw anything like it.

The article had pictures of these babies with their mothers, the whole thing was bizarre. Folks, I can’t imagine how some people think. In the eyes of LHJ they saw nothing wrong with it.

I was called back before I could finish the article, so I don’t know the marital status of these mothers. I’m gonna assume most wanted a baby without the bother of a husband, some were probably lesbian couples. I wont even go into what our Faith says about this, but I still don’t see how a secular couple goes along with this. Another man’s baby,? Even if it is via lab, just seems outta whack to me. Or am I just old fashiioned?

I tried to put myself in the donor’s shoes, knowing I have all these children just “out there” would really bother me.

I did read he no longer donates, because he recently married. Donors of non active men = high sperm counts. But I’m thinking a man who allows this is not living a celibate life, married or not.

Apparently these women pick out the doror. I wonder if they get a scrapbook of proposed fathers. If you want a athletic child pick from here, scientist go here, art and lit pick from this group. Same for physical attributes, pick here if you want a good chance at blues eyes or curly hair.

It reminded how I use to buy and trade baseball cards. Owell.

Since he’s married, I wonder if he plans on keeping track of ALL of his children, to prevent them from engaging in inadvertent incest. Does his new wife know how many kids he has?

That is a great possibility! A young man I know was dating his half sister. Thank God, his mother realized after meeting his girlfriend. She remembered seeing this little girl back when she was about 3.

How dangerous this could all be.

God have Mercy on us.

Yanno Jim I didn’t think of that, but you gotta point. I’m sure these kids were spread out, but anything is possible nowdays. He ssems to be a good choice if a lady wanted a boy, if he fathered any girls I didn’t see any pics, but like I said, I was called back before I coiuld finish the article.

Wow, amazing how the world has progressed.

Personally i’m against IVF even if it’s within a sacrementally married couple, so i don’t think people should even be allowed to get inseminated by donar sperms nor use donar eggs/embryos.

Now we see the wisdom of the Church in the 70s when she defended Her teachings on life issues.

The possibility of unintentional incest is huge. This is disgraceful.

Hundreds of babies from one bio-dad? I love babies, but this is weird. The population control crowd might want to take on artificial reproductive technology like sperm donation and IVF.

I would not want to be that guy’s new wife. I think it is a special privledge to be the mother of my husband’s children. How un-special to be the mother of that guy’s children, just like a few hundred other women.

Well said. The mothers of these children kinda have a virtual club where they communicate, and share pictures of their children. I didn’t get far enough to see how many have met in real life.

My guess more then a few have met at the local McDonald’s and shareed Happy Meals while the kids played on the playground. The whole thing is crazy.

I wonder if these will ever find out they have bushels of half brothers and sisters “out there.” Beings they share a bond and blood with. I can’t understand what these people are thinking.
