I see people posting here saying that they are leaving CAF and the church. I would say that things are getting complicated for Catholics in general. Things are getting tough here on CAF for people who are not progressive enough.
We have Jesus Christ and the Bible to rely on and this is what should be our guiding light. The various new agendas that are being pushed on us can sometimes look and sound like marxism, paganism, progressivism etc.

Don’t give up hope, to paraphrase JPII. Stick to your guns and remain in the church. It is the devil that wants you to bail. Don’t let the liar trick you. Stay here and continue to witness.

And if I get shot down for posting this, I will wait, come back and continue.

I just got threatened with suspension because apparently I’m too progressive! Even though I was raised in the Latin Mass movement and am still a member of an FSSP (Latin Mass, Latin everything) parish! LOL 😂

I agree with “don’t leave the Church” but I’ve been told several times here at CAF that I should leave because I’m not really Catholic or whatever, since I question the status quo, have things like opinions, etc.

It’s offensive that you’d single out people who aren’t progressive enough and forget that people who are viewed as too progressive have it tough here as well.

He’s expressing his opinion… which in the paragraph before this you said you called out for.

I’ve been on CAF since day one. This is nothing new. It’s an anonymous Internet forum. People come and go.

As a person who has been at CAF for fifteen years, I see nothing new or different in the composition and make up of poster and topics. Certainly nothing indicating it is “tough” for Catholics who don’t identify as “progressive”— whatever that actually means.

You made the statement: We have Jesus Christ and the Bible to rely on.

But in actuality we have Divine Revelation, composed of both Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition, and the Church that Christ founded to rely on.
 
I don’t think i’ve ever interacted with you, so I don’t know how you would know what level of “traditional” I am. I’m basing my opinion off of the OP and your response.

I am on this forum for a short time, but got shot down once or twice already and get threats for being offensive. (no idea how, except that some of my views can seem more traditional)
 
There’s an “and” there. I wasn’t talking about your level of traditionalism. Just the fact that you’re jumping on me for complaining but not jumping on the OP for complaining.

Trust me, I totally get it. There’s some flag-happy posters on these forums, it seems.
 
Ok. What I meant to say from the start is that there is a divide between those Catholics who dare to raise questions about some of the things currently going on at the V. (I will call them more conservative) and those who are staunch supporters of the V., regardless of what goes on there. Any statement I would make about the V. would definitely shut me down, maybe permanently. So, there you have it. If you don’t hear from me again, you will know why.
 
If we could just all air our opinions and have discussions, without people acting childish, that would be real nice 🚬 🤔
 
Yes the forum leans liberal left and there always was an animosity directed toward Traditionalists but that goes back to the old forum so nothing new. But there will always be dissent from the teachings of Jesus and His Church and people will leave because of ‘hard teachings’ as they did in John 6.

It’s a delicate balance between expressing your views about the pope or the Vatican, and staying within the confines of the rules here. If your critiques take the form of a “rant”, it is very likely that several people here will read that rant as uncharitable, disrespectful, and inciting animosity against the clergy. All of those things are rules violations.

If you are going to critique, better to do so calmly and charitably after giving much prudent thought to what you will say and how you will say it.

I’ll be honest though… to the existent I ever have critiques about the pope or the Vatican, I keep them to myself. It’s too easy to be taken the wrong way when communicating online.
