don't you think people are 10 times more rude now than ever in (recent) history???

Oh yea?? Will** I ** saved an entire city from being destroyed by a volcano by digging a trench for the lava with one bare hand while the other was giving out aid to orphans and my feet were typing this post.
OH YEAH!!

Well, I helped Dr WHO save the entire UNIVERSE and didn’t even get film credit!!

…and fitting into that skirt wasn’t easy.

May I propose a solution to the problem?

First, I highly recommend a good listen–actually, probably several good listens–to a talk by Peter Kreeft entitled “How to Win the Culture War.” You can listen or download it for free here: peterkreeft.com/audio.htmQUOTE]

Wow that’s so creepy… I was about to say the exact same thing!!!

AMAZING speech. Anybody who hasn’t heard it really has to!

Michael, I think you are being a bit censorius toward those of us who see societal decline. We have not been judging anyone, and I do not believe that anyone has expressed ungratefullness. Societies, nations, and empires rise and fall as the centuries roll by. There may be moral excellence followed by periods of moral squalor, and visa versa. Societies and nations do not always rise in linear progression or declension. Many who commented on this thread affirmed that people are more rude than in times past. In our national history was there ever a period of time during which 50 million abortions were performed aside from the period 1973 to present? The same for divorce, cohabitation, child abuse, and percentages of the population in incarceration? Is American society (or the UK) about the same as it was in the 1940’s or 1950’s? No. The more recent changes show a society in distress. We see evidence of this, and I presume the one who began this thread sees the same thing.

They called it a “change in paradigm”. Code for “we don’t like Christianity any more”. 😉

James, it seems very evident that you don’t like Christianity-- or am I “presuming” too much? So as to avoid such presumption, would you be willing to disclose the religion, if any, to which you adhere? Since you don’t like Christianity, mystery, glory, and all, why have you posted here 386 times since August 30? Is this an obsession?

I find you excessively presumptuous. I have defended Christianity all of my life. Read my “intro” perhaps. I have stated that I believe the ONE mistake that Christianity made very long ago was to use glorification and mysticism in place of understanding.

When the faithful, probably much like yourself, are long blown away, although perhaps burnt to nothing but a cinder, I will still be standing where I have always stood, accepting God above all else, and finding no guilt whatsoever in Jesus and his principles, admiring them more than ever only saddened by them being so misrepresented as to cause such falling away.

Try not presuming anger and cynicism in everything you read. Most of the time, I am almost (almost) giddy happy. 😃

Liquidpele: Again, since april you have posted over 800 times, yet you claim to be agnostic. Another case of obsession? Is there an agnostic blog you would like much better? Are you able to contribute anything besides mockery?

johnhenry,

If you don’t like the people on this forum (advising them to leave), why are YOU here? 😊

But I have to admit, this is the right thread for your behavior.
