I am considering purchasing a Douay Rheims Bible and was wondering if it used the translation Jehovah instead of Yahweh? I’m curious because the name Jehovah really grinds my nerves. I know that it was used for a long time and is still technically acceptable, I just can’t stand it. I equate that name to the Jehovah’s Witnesses. And although I love everybody, I cannot stand that religion. So if Douay Rheims uses that name I might hold off on purchasing the Bible.
To be clear:
I don’t hold it against anyone for using the name Jehovah or for being a Jehovah’s Witness, it’s just my preference.

I got my nice one for Christmas but I read it before then and I don’t remember seeing it but also mainly read the New Testament.

You will not find the word Jehovah in the biblical text of the Douay-Rheims Bible. In some editions, you will find it once in a footnote where it criticized. That footnote is on Exodus 6:3 and it says, “some moderns have framed the name of Jehovah, unknown to all the ancients, whether Jews or Christians; for the true pronunciation of the name, which is in the Hebrew text, by long disuse is now quite lost.”
 
The Douay-Rheims Bible translates the Tetragrammaton simply as “the Lord.”

I only use the DRA because I think it’s more accurate to link the English translation to Jerome’s Latin translation. He lived and studied in the Middle East within 400 years of the apostles, so he was more acquainted with the culture compared to modern scholars.
 
I’m an RSV kinda guy myself. But I do have a reprint of the Haydock DR. it is excellent and well worth the money.
