Tara Reade’s unproven sexual-assault allegation against former Vice President Joseph R. Biden may do nothing to dent his 2020 presidential run, but the damage to the #MeToo movement has already been done.

The tepid response from Democrats and the media establishment to Ms. Reade’s claim, described as comparable to Christine Blasey Ford’s allegation against Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, comes as another hit to #MeToo’s credibility as a disinterested defender of victims’ rights.

Inez Stepman, senior policy analyst at the right-of-center Independent Women’s Forum, said the once-admirable movement hailed for taking down sexual predators like disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein devolved rapidly into a partisan political weapon.

Honestly, I believe her and I think he’s probably a sex pest. It’s not like she’s the only one with allegations. He was reported to sniff women’s hair a while ago, and I’ve seen videos of him kissing supporters on the cheek without any kind of prompting.

I think it’s funny that all these liberal feminists are basically only refusing to believe her on the basis that she’s attacking a centre-left politician that they support. Believe women, unless it’s politically inconvenient.

The MeToo movement is dead anyway. Nothing really came out of it either.

This was an interesting comment take on Biden’s guilt. Hat tip to @JapaneseKappa here on this thread (and this post) for the link that contained it. . Actually… Tara has more evidence than any of Trump or Kavanaugh’s accusers. Her time lines are backed up by aids in terms of when she was their manager to when she abruptly and without reason was removed from a managing position (lines up with her claims). I do not know whether Biden is guilty. But I DO know that the #metoo and leftist media are woefully inconsistent. They relentlessly attacked Brett Kavanaugh for POLITICAL REASONS, despite zero evidence. But they ignore the accusations against Joe Biden. Speaks for itself.
