Hello…
I want to ask something regarding mortal and venial sin
This is a struggle that i’m currently holding with…

A little bit background, i have a condition that need to be checked to doctor and psychiatrist…
Last week im talking and discussed my worries about it… And in the end i said something offending my parent… I didnt intend to offend my parent but i reflected and i realized that i hurt my parent by saying that certain worries of mine… he’s angry and hurt, I am truly sorry for what i did but i didnt have the intention to hurt him, but i was insensitive (i have intention to say my worries)… did i commit mortal sin?

I also want to ask this, im also dealing with my feeling that i need to do something after i confessed my sin as an act of restitution so that i can be free of my guilt… I tell this to two of my non-catholic friend and i got some advices that god is loving and i dont need to do something to obtain god forgiveness… and i mentioned that logically i know that but why do i have this feeling? and i came to the conclusion and said that i do believe that god is loving and god doesnt demand that, god has forgiven me and why do i have to doubt god forgiveness by setting a condition for myself to be forgiven?
did i do commit mortal sins by feeling and saying this to my friend ?

Excellent! Very happy to hear that - I hope your appointments are soon.
And in the end i said something offending my parent
What was said could be either mortal or venial. Best advice is to go to confession and confess what you said to your parent, and ask the priest if saying that was a grave sin, a mortal sin for you.

That is called reparation or restitution. Say your penance the priest gave you after your confession. If it was something you stole, then restitution has to be made. The priest to whom you confessed (if it was theft), hopefully advised you how to make restitution.

Yes, God is loving and merciful. But we also have to do the penance the priest gave us and make restitution for the wrong done. For example, with your parent, the minimum you would do would be to sincerely apologize and think before you speak so you don’t offend your parent again.

I also advise you to not take the advice of non-Catholics on spiritual matters which this is. Whilst their intention is to help you, they are not the right people to turn to for spiritual advice. Your priest is.

Now with that said, judging by the two other topics you’ve created, it indeed appears that you are scrupulous and know you are. Therefore, whilst you are really anxious and want help to work things out, the very best help we can give you is to go and see your priest and ask his advice/help with these matters.

The reason we tell people who are scrupulous to go and see their own priest for advice, is because here you will get replies that are the opposite of each other. One person will say it isn’t a mortal sin, and someone else will say it might be, and someone else will say it is. And you’ll just end up more confused as to whether you have sinned mortally or venially or even no sin at all.

Hello everyone…
I havent met with my psychiatrist but i have met with my priest…

I want to ask a question… Does despairing about my mental illness is a sin in the spur of moment to someone?

I said it like this
“A, you dont have to worry and take care of me, i will try and take care of myself to treat this but i dont know whether i will be cured or not cured (in a i dont care about it anymore and kinda despair about my recovery manner)”

A is a person…

After i said this sentence, i realized that im afraid of sinning because i dont want to doubt god in healing me…

Keep talking to your Priest, going to confession and apologize to those you hurt.
