The more I research daro’s other quotes, the more I realize that he simply cut-n-pasted them from other people’s anti-Catholic sites, without personally verifying any of the quotations. That’s some impressive scholarship

I’m sorry that’s too funny. Ellen White contraditcts the Bible so often it’s unreal.
As and SDA I was taught that Eve was alone when she was tempted by the serpant, that Noah didn’t eat unclean meat, that the Tower of Bable was built to escape another flood, and that’s just in Genesis.

Genesis 3:6, Genesis 9:3 and Genesis 11:4 contradict these things.

His audience is mostly under- educated and from lower socio-economic strata. But they tithe and contribute to his treasury and life style. Hi Catholics,

There is a guy I saw on the BET network. His name is Doug Batchelor, president of his show called Amazing Facts. In his show he preaches the bible using an 80 inch screen television. He has made me upset. If there are Catholics right now reading this, please give your feedback. I’ve watched other religious channels before but they never criticized other religions. This show brutally criticized the Catholic Church.

Let’s begin on what Mr. Batchelor preached:

Catholic Church Attack #1

Mr. Batchelor said he read the book Crossing the Threshold of Hope written by his Holiness John Paul II. In the book it says:"Confronted with the Pope, one must make a choice. The leader of the Catholic Church is defined by the faith as the Vicar of Jesus Christ (and is accepted as such by believers), The Pope is considered the man on the earth who represents the Son of God, who ‘takes the place’ of the second person of the omnipotent God of the Trinity. page 3

Mr. Batchelor stated this is blasphemy. He states “The Bible states that God is Holy, Holy and reverened is His Name.” He argued that the Pope is man and since he is man he is human. Human falls short in the Glory of God. He said that the pope shouldn’t even consider himself the 2nd of the trinity…

Catholic Church Attack #2

Mr Batchelor stated “Where in the Bible states that Sunday is the holy day of obligation?” He said “A long time ago Saturday was the holy day of obligation, it was a Catholic Tradition. Constantine wanted to satisfy the Romans so he made Sunday the holy day of obligation for the Romans because that day was assigned as the Sun God.” He continued saying that because of this the Catholic Church had two days of obligation. One day was Saturday which was Catholic Tradition to be the holy day of obligation. The 2nd day which was Sunday was made to make the Romans happy. So for many years we had 2 days of obligation and soon, Catholics broke away from tradition and assigned Sunday as the holy day of obligation. Mr. Batchelor said “Check this out, this is why Catholic Tradition falls short and that is why there is no scripture to back this up.”

Catholic Church Attack #3
Mr. Batchelor said that the Catholic Church was brutal in persecuting non-believers or didn’t believe in the Catholic way. If someone was caught preaching against the Church they would capture him, tie hiim up and let him dehydrate. So once the unbeliever became thirsty they would crack glass in a small towel and soak it in water and let him swallow it so that the glass will cut off his vocal cords so he can’t preach heresy. He continued saying that the Catholic Church would bury women alive who were unbelievers and execute children right in front of the parents face. He said it was a total of 50-70 million people executed. He quoted this on Popes V2, p.334

There weren’t even 50 to 70 million people in Europe to begin with during the time of the Inquisition. This stupid, stupid, moronic claim and libel, would mean that the Catholic Church killed every CATHOLIC in Europe and then some !! Yet so many antiCatholics fall for this. It’s pathetic.

Also, he is some brand of S.D.A. because if you read closely the small print on the closing credits of his show you will see references to the S.D.A.

If you read any of her books you will see she wants people to focus on Christ not her…and granted some SDA may hold her in high regards (like catholics hold the Pope as someone the can have faith in his messages) it doesn’t mean they all do.

Oh Please! Doug Batchelor is a scam artist for the SDA ultra fundamentalists. It like the Jack Chick Tract stuff. They prey on the uneducated, point to some discredited history book, like Lorraine Bittner’s books, and try to pose as they know their history. The Evil One always mixes lies with some truth.

Amazing Facts (Falsehoods) is a seventh day adventist front group. They will resist admitting their sda affiliation. Wonder why. Do NOT trust one thing they tell you. They doctor quotes. I have caught them and pointed it out, but they acknowledged it and refused to change the quote back. They leave out crucial parts of quotes using the elipse ie. the … They use anything but the catechism as authoritative sources. They find some “catholic” book and quote it as if it were dogma. They use every trick in the book to lie and deceive. Don’t believe a word they say.

WELL Said Sir ! Don’t believe a word they say. Doug Batchelor is a fanatic and a twisted anti-Catholic. They are trying to get folks to tithe to their group. Its all about money and building a little empire. Really no different than Jimmy Swaggert and the others.

You may want to reconsider what you just wrote. The belief of Seventh Day Adventist is that Ellen White is in fact a prophet. I would suggest that based on the following it is inappropriate to compare her to how Catholics view the Pope. See the following official site of the Seventh Day Adventists and note what it says.

Furthermore, I have read her books and I disagree with you. She does not want people to focus on Christ. The history in her books is inaccurate, she distorts the beliefs of the Catholic Church. Her books are full of lies. And to further that, much of what she wrote is considered plagarized as documented by the Seventh Day Adventists themselves.

As antiCatholic as Swaggart is,
Jimmy Swaggart has a lot more class than Doug Batchelor and
the Amazing Facts! gang.

Imagine name a bible study show Amazing Facts!
It’s like giving it a name like “Name That Tune” or Jeopardy!!

The whole thing looks shyster-y.
And Batchelor needs to put powder on his bald spot before
going on camera. The glare is unbearable.
