But seriously, hasn’t anyone developed the anti-anticatbot yet? (This is not really a joke post, I am just saying that it’s easy to make an automated program to combat an automated program).

All it needs to do is -
  • Automatically post the same answers to the same questions that the anticatbot keeps asking.
  • Automatically post the ‘dont take scripture out of context’ response to random scripture quotes.
  • Automatically checks profiles and warns other users of who is not really Catholic.
  • Moderator use feature which automatically bans users if there is reason to.
  • Posts from the CCC and other authoritative sources to counter the Catholic-on-Catholic threads, and warn people against the Catholics who go against the official teachings and are just adding fuel to the fire.
Now, put these 2 bots on the internet and watch servers everywhere go into overload.
Another thing to think about.
If the non-Catholics really are acting like these bots just trying to give us trouble, should we really respond to them in a serious manner? It feels good to defend the faith but then you start to get frustrated because you feel like you’re talking to the wall. If that’s the case, why not learn to ignore them, or else make silly posts right back at them? Maybe you can even get the thread locked if you start posting stuff in there like “why don’t we just shoot all the prots, that would solve our problems” and frustrate them right back?

Thanks. This was something I wrote on another catholic board that was very loosely moderated where anti-catholic whackadoos would chew up the whole forum with their agenda. So much so that some of us began to wonder if it was really just one person with a spamming program. Someone requested a copy of it recently, so I thought I would break it out again. Other people gave me a few ideas to add like "once installed, always installed.

It’s for this reason that I’m glad we have a nice set of forum police here. Back in 2004 where the forums began I remember there were some wackadoos that would come in here and it would take months before something would be done. (reference to the yaquism method). But now we have more moderators that keep an eye on things. THANK YOU FORUM MODERATORS!
 
It’s been a while since I’ve seen this one. Absolutely hillarious! And way too true…
