But Doug doesn’t feel normal. He keeps having the same dream at the same time every night. The dream is a fragmented scene of him running away from pursuing figures with a female at his side. It ends with him being shot. Doug begins to feel detached and preoccupied until a fellow factory worker tells him about a service called “Rekall.” They will replace his present memory with one of his own choosing and give him the peace of mind he so desperately seeks.
