Dr Charles Stanley got one thing right this morning

I know that these forums are designed to defend our faith and not attack other faiths. Hopefully, this will not be viewed as an attack.

I heard Dr Charles Stanley’s message on his “In Touch” radio program this morning. He was talking about the bible passage describing the Last Supper and Jesus breaking the bread and saying “This is my body” and “This is my blood”. And he talked about how Jesus meant this represents my body and blood. So in his church when they get the bread and grape juice they say, “This represents your body/blood”.
At first this really offended me and his description of how Jesus meant this is really a representation was almost laughable. Then I thought about it some more. When we receive the Eucharist, we receive the body of Christ. When the Priest holds the host in front of us and says, “The body of Christ”. We see Jesus right before our eyes, we say “Amen”, we believe. We believe in His church, we believe that we are all one in Christ Jesus.
So when Dr. Stanleys church says “This represents your body”. They are really saying, “This represents your church”. So I guess that they are correct, it is not the one true church of Christ, it just represents it.

In the Catholic Church there is no picture… we have the object…the Real Presence.

He can try to deny it all he wants. But, according to World Book online, Baptists are members of Protestant denomination. If you claim to be Christian and are not members of the Catholic or Orthodox Church you are Protestant and guilty of protesting Christ by protesting the church He began.

According to World Book online, The Catholic Church traces its beginnings to about A.D. 30, when Jesus Christ instructed the apostles, His followers, to spread His teaching about the Kingdom of God.

Well, the Church doesn’t think every Protestant guilty of protesting the Church. Most of them were brought up Protestant and know nothing else. They worship as they do because that is what they were taught, not in order to protest anything. We cannot declare all Protestants culpable of the same sins as those who with full knowledge, full understanding, and full exercise of their will leave the Church. And even they are very rare, indeed, these days.

But to get back to the topic at hand, most Evangelical Protestants don’t believe in the Real Presence because they don’t see the necessity for it. Believing as they do that they are justified by faith alone, the Eucharist, and most other sacraments, are mere barnacles to be scraped off the hull of the Church so it can have a “pure faith” in Jesus unencumbered by such superstitious mysteries. Of course, they cling to those that support their position–the Incarnation, Virgin Birth, Resurrection, because they need them in order to be saved, as they understand it.

Whether directly or indirectly they still protest. It is their duty to inquire about the True Faith.

When did this corruption happen? If the original True Catholic Church became corrupted, then you are calling Jesus a liar.

As I understand, Protestant was also a way of defining yourself to someone as “I am not Catholic,” but now the non-Catholics choose “Christian,” which seems to imply that Catholic is not Christian (well, some non-Catholics think Catholics are not Christians). Then, to further muddy the water, the label “non-denominational” has appeared so those non-Catholics can further disassociate themselves with the word “protestant.” Talk about some marketing semantics.

I hope you realize you are calling Jesus a deceiver and impostor. That is blasphemous. You say, that the Catholic Church has become corrupted, has fallen into error, and therefore, it was necessary to establish a new church. A new church, a new religion. And to this I answer, if the Catholic Church had been once the true church, then she is still true, and shall be the true Church of God to the end of time, or Jesus Christ has deceived us.

The Catholic Church now, in the 21st century, is the true Church of God as she was almost 2000 years ago. To say otherwise is to say that Jesus lied and Christianity is a farce.

If the Catholic Church has been once the true Church of God, as admitted by all, then she is the true Church still, and shall be the true Church of God until the end of time. For Christ has promised that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church. He says that He has built it upon a rock, and that the gates of hell shall never prevail against it.

Now, if the Catholic Church has fallen into error, then the gates of hell have prevailed against her. And if the gates of hell have prevailed against her, then Christ has not kept his promise. Then He has deceived us, and if He has deceived us, then He is an impostor! If He be an impostor, then He is not God, and if He be not God, then all Christianity is a cheat and an imposition.

By denying the Church that is what you are saying my dear Protestants!!!

Does not matter what they call themselves. It does not change the fact they are still Protestants
