My argument there was nothing to do with gay marriage. It was a story from my Jesuit Priest and his early homilies, which had nothing to do with gay marriage.

Are you guys confusing my posts ? In fact I am yet to hear any of the Priests here say they are in favour of gay marriage.

Sorry, you have lost me. I am a scientist. I know scientists who also have great faith in God.

Here is my belief, God created everything. You won’t disagree with that, I am sure.

God also created evolution, given God created everything in the natural and the supernatural world. Now as to what that evolution looks like, to me it’s a series of very interesting experiments by human standards. Ie Ediacara Fossils, living stromatolites, the humble platypus, the extinct thylacine ( although some swear it’s not) , and the sabre tooth tiger.

I disagree. There is a Church teaching that “God created all that exists, except Himself.” And there is also the fact that evolution exists. If evolution exists, then God must have created it. Combining the two, we have an indirect Church teaching that God created evolution.

I suspect that Church teaching does not explicitly state that “God created pulsars”, yet similarly, God created pulsars is indirectly implicit in Church teaching.

The Bible says: “Ask the animals, they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you.” – Job 12:7-8. Animals, birds and fish all tell biologists that evolution has happened. It is there in their appearance, as noted by Linnaeus in 1735 and confirmed by DNA sequencing more recently.

Anyone speaking out against the creations of God ie Dinosaurs, evolution, fire ants in South America, is attempting to put themselves in the Creator position.

That is what I’m talking about. This is absurd. You’re suggesting if we don’t believe in evolution than we are breaking the First Commandment… That is just not right.
