Grandma Agnes is my wife’s grandmother. Agnes lived until she was 101 years old. She lived in the same house until she died this last winter.
My wife told me about a dream she recently had about Agnes. In her dream, she realized that she was in the house of her late grandmother Agnes. Except that the house looked different.
When she went upstairs in the house, there were all these “mysterious” little rooms along the stariway. There were no little rooms like that in Grandma Ages’ house. And this troubled my wife a little bit.
Recently, at a birthday party for one of our grand children, my wife was talking with her daughters. Two of them seperately told my wife of recent dreams they had about Agnes’ house, and about the little rooms along the stairway.
My wife thought that this was an amazing coincidence. I told her that this was way beyond mere coincidence. It thought it was very unlikely that both she and her daughters could have such remarkably similar dreams by “chance”, and that these dreams should be so remarkable to them that they would each remember them, and make a point of sharing them independently of each other.
I suggested to my wife that their dreams were speaking of Agnes’ heavenly reality. Agnes has gone from this life into the next. She is living in the house that Jesus has made for her. She is living in her heavenly home, and yes, it looks different than her physical house on earth. It has rooms for all the people that she has loved here. My wife could not yet see into some of the rooms, because many of those people are still alive and are not yet in heaven. And that it is this heavenly “reality” that explains how they could each experience the same dream.
It is a remarkable, and mysterious reality, that God can allow my wife and her daughters to experience a glimpse into the heavenly home of Grandma Agnes.
I think it is simply marvelous the way God works in our lives.
What do you think about this?
