Grandma Agnes is my wife’s grandmother. Agnes lived until she was 101 years old. She lived in the same house until she died this last winter.

My wife told me about a dream she recently had about Agnes. In her dream, she realized that she was in the house of her late grandmother Agnes. Except that the house looked different.

When she went upstairs in the house, there were all these “mysterious” little rooms along the stariway. There were no little rooms like that in Grandma Ages’ house. And this troubled my wife a little bit.

Recently, at a birthday party for one of our grand children, my wife was talking with her daughters. Two of them seperately told my wife of recent dreams they had about Agnes’ house, and about the little rooms along the stairway.

My wife thought that this was an amazing coincidence. I told her that this was way beyond mere coincidence. It thought it was very unlikely that both she and her daughters could have such remarkably similar dreams by “chance”, and that these dreams should be so remarkable to them that they would each remember them, and make a point of sharing them independently of each other.

I suggested to my wife that their dreams were speaking of Agnes’ heavenly reality. Agnes has gone from this life into the next. She is living in the house that Jesus has made for her. She is living in her heavenly home, and yes, it looks different than her physical house on earth. It has rooms for all the people that she has loved here. My wife could not yet see into some of the rooms, because many of those people are still alive and are not yet in heaven. And that it is this heavenly “reality” that explains how they could each experience the same dream.

It is a remarkable, and mysterious reality, that God can allow my wife and her daughters to experience a glimpse into the heavenly home of Grandma Agnes.

I think it is simply marvelous the way God works in our lives.

What do you think about this?

A wise old nun said, when you dream about someone, no matter how, it’s our signal and request to pray for them. So that’s what I do. My spouse goes so far as to have a mass said in their intention. Others light candles. It’s nice that they have dreams about Grandma, obviously she is loved greatly and will be missed

Indeed. Good advice too. And for our daughters as well.
Thanks,

I have what I refer to as “A House Dream” at least once or twice every month. My mother passed away about a year ago, my father about 20 years ago. My mom lived in that house for about 50 years. She lived briefly in a retirement type place for about 6 months prior to her death.

Of course, we had to sell the old family house we all grew up in and had to say good bye to a place that gave us so many memories.

Weird how the house is always the center of dreams about mom, dad, and my siblings.

Anyway, maybe related to your thread, maybe not…but I understand a little bit…

I really enjoyed your story Climer of Grandma Agnes’ House:thumbsup: …some things we just cannot explain I dont think.

Dreaming in some way about a house is supposed??? to be in some way about the inner self.
I have two persistent dreams when I do dream which is not very often. Both involve houses that stay vividly in memory, one is a very small old fashioned compact flat in a myriad of flats - absolute myriad, maze of flats. This is my favourite ‘in my dream house’. The other is about an absolutely huge, very high ceilings, heaps of bedrooms, again old fashioned house…some rooms most grand. I also see the exterior of this house which is a totally run down garden and also absolutely huge with broken down roads and laneways all around it. I am sure my pschiatriast would ‘play merry hell’ with all that!!!😃

As a child on visiting my grandmother for the first time in another state with my mother and with Mum and Nana eagerly catching up with things, I went off to the bathroom (we call it toilet here) - I was about 4yrs old. On my return Mum asked me where I had gone and when I told her, she asked me how I knew where it was (it was in an unusual place) and I said I “remember from before”. But I had never been in that house before. Weirrrrdddd!
