I don’t know if I have ever bought an Apple product but they are a market share for people’s senior savings account, their 401K’s investments in the stock market.

At top in article under headline …
The phones, some with 5G connectivity, will vary in price and come in three sizes
Sounds like it has some 5G - price as usual is a factor.

Meanwhile, my new Samsung Galaxy S20+ takes lovely pictures and is a nice tablet to use as a phone from time to time. Thank goodness it arrived before the world closed in.

Cost Apple level sums of money though.

I appreciate the capability for Android phones to interoperate with computer accessories without paying the Apple Tax of needing the dongles to do it. One of my Android tablets has a virtual machine running a desktop version of Ubuntu; something I’ve found especially useful when going on trips. In the past I would have to bring a computer with me just in case something popped up from work. Now I can just bring the Android tablet. Much lighter, longer lasting battery.

Did she get the free earbuds deal by pre-ordering? I had been going to wait until the usual drop in price by Autumn but the earbuds thing made any saving irrelevant.

I still use my Galaxy S8 for a lot of things - like shopping (lists and Google/Tesco Pay etc) because the S20+ is a bit unwieldy. It’s brilliant for work, editing documents, texting - which seems to dominate my communications - reading the papers, books, watching Netflix etc though.

Oh, I’m learning to deal with them - since most of my listening consists of audiobooks, I’ve never been too fussy about sound quality. Freedom from wires is getting more attractive, it has to be said.

Apple Inc. is pushing back the production ramp-up of its flagship iPhones coming later this year by about a month, according to people familiar with the changes, as the coronavirus pandemic weakens global consumer demand and disrupts manufacturing across Asia, the heart of the consumer electronics supply chain.
Oh the horror. 😲
How will mankind tackle this? 🥺

😄

Out at the Neptune orbit of London’s suburban system, we’re more likely to be mugged by squirrels than anything else, I take your point though.

Well, leaving aside the complexities of the homelessness situation, with mental health, it’s been a bit like that since they closed the ‘hospitals’ and went for ‘care in the community’, getting worse was an inevitability.

I don’t miss living in London itself, it had become a burden rather than anything else - the ridiculous thing is that travelling in for a meeting often takes less time now than when we lived just a few miles away and the social/cultural advantages of living in London seem to have faded with middle age.

I like living near to Oxford as well.

That’s the amount that I paid for mine (200 quid = 250 bucks). That was back in 2015 or so. They are almost worn out but the have been well worn. I ended up getting a white pair for a family member too. Sadly she broke hers last year.

I think I can get another year or two out of mine. I’ve got some of the Samsung Earphones too. But I much preferred the ear phones. Due to construction in the office there were a lot of power tool noises. The Earphones did a grad job of blocking the noise.
