Just when I am ready to be baptized after so many tears, covid19 happened. Now my baptism will have to wait.
What kinds of questions?some serious questions will need to be asked
I’m guessing that the OP was supposed to get baptized during Easter Vigil, as most of those who enter the Church are. They will probably be getting confirmed as well. Since public Easter Vigil is cancelled, I’d imagine that the ceremony is postponed as well.Fr, why should a baptism be postponed?
The Church teaches baptism of desire, so this is a non-issue.especially when there is an increased risk of serious illness.
My question would be why does a priest need to put his life at risk for a baptism that can be delayed, one that is not urgent. Even a small private baptism means a gathering of 3-4 people in very close contact.I figured that. Still, does the baptism need to wait? It could be a private ceremony, and they could postpone a public confirmation even until next year if they wanted to enter full communion at the Easter Vigil. Baptism has urgency though, especially when there is an increased risk of serious illness.
