There have been some problems with the “BIBLE AND COMMENTARIES.CHM” Working after download. I have found that the file seems to have been damaged by the upload or download or both. I have zipped the file and re uploadd the file back on the site as a zipped file. You will have to extract the file once downloaded. seems to work fine after that. In any case

Overview and Clarification statement

First of all let me say that I am a PC guy, and I don’t even own a MAC, so take all of this accordingly.

I have received an email from James Wiggins about his website which uses an interface program so that you can run e-Sword on the MAC.

How this is possible

I am not a programmer either, but I will give you the basics of how the technology works. This is similar to what Linux uses to run PC programs which is called WINE. (There is nothing alcoholic about this.) WINE is a layer or a program between the operating system and the program. In the case of this program, James Wiggins has made such a program which layers itself between the PC program and the MAC operating system so that the two can work together on a MAC. Give me feed back on this

If you are a MAC user and want to try this, please send me an email at tech and then the @ sign, and then davidcox.com.mx. I am interesting in hearing your comments.
 
I don’t know if this was mentioned in a previous post, but the Catechism of the Catholic Church is available as an E-Sword Topic Notes add on.
 
Greetings and thank you for your work in continuing the distribution of eSword and Catholic specific files.

Its interesting to read that several Catholic modules that I edited many years ago are still being circulated. I am the Timothy of eSword for Catholics on eSnips. I am also the editor of the Baltimore Catechism 1891 and St Francis Way of the Cross topical files.

I run a small Christian apologetics blog now and greatly appreciate you fellows stepping in to continue the eSword ministry. At the time, I was one of the few Catholic eSword users.

On the above site is a portion that has been translated of “The Great Cornelius Lapide Commentar” from Latin to English the gospels, Corinthians 1 and 2, Galatians.

What is available is the best Catholic Commentary I have ever come accross, far surpases the Navarre commentary. The Lapide was originally written in Latin in the 1600’s. It would be great to find someone fluent in Latin who might consider translating the rest of the Lapide NT or the whole works into English so as to make the NT or whole commentary available for e-Sword program.

What good Catholic Resources are wanted/needed for e-Sword to be a good tool to be used in conjunction with RCIA?
Some background. I’m putting together several CDs of e-sword resources, that can be freely distributed. One of those CDs is explicitely Catholic in orientation. Ideally, it will be of such a high quality, that Catholic Parishes will give it to people taking RCIA or Confirmation Classes.

For the record, I’m compiling a similar CD for Orthodox Christians. So if anybody has any suggestions along those lines, that would also be welcome.

looking for some help. Does anyboby know if the Ronald Knox Bible is copyrighted, or if it is free public domain. If it is copyrighted where do we go to get permission to use. I am looking to possibly put the Ronald Knox NT for e-Sword program. It is available in html on line.

Many thanks for the editor of LXX for e-sword. It works perfectly with the new e-sword ver.8. It would be a great idea though to implement Strongs numbers too, as most LXX bibles for e-sword on the net either do not have Strongs numbers or do not show the Apocrypha or Deuterocanonica books.

The Nicene Church Fathers has been repaired and reloaded. There was a problem with Vol 1 which was fixed. There was also a problem with the Nicene Fathers loading up in correct order in the e-Sword program-this has also been repaired

This blogger posts the Navarre Bible commentary for the Gospel of each day, seemingly with permission. I know doing the whole Bible for e-Sword would be a lot different than just the Gospels, but it might not hurt to ask about it. Heck, I’d pay for it, even (but with the price of the whole Bible in print, it might be way too hefty).

e-Sword 9.0.1 was released on 29 April 2009.
It uses a different database engine than e-Sword 8.x, and earlier.

a) All of the user created resources for e-Sword, that can be legally redistributed, will be available from e-Sword-users.org. It will take time to convert all of the resources;

upgrade, fixed search ability problem, added Scripture citations which demonstrate that the use of the term brothers in relation to Christ is generic relating to kinship as in cousins-- 3 out of 4 brothers named in Mathew 13:55 are really cousins. added citations for Mary which show why Catholics and the Eastern rite churches hold Mary as Queen of Heaven, If we believe that Christ is indeed King over heaven and earth, and inherits His earthly throne from David then it follows from Scripture that Mary must be queen see citations and reasons why. Added citations on Baptism . 2 files a Catholic Doctrinal Concordance for Scripture, esword dct. module and Bible Cheat sheet-Topical esword. Ignorance of scripture is ignorance of Christ-- St. Jerome short doctrinal concordance of the Catholic faith. It is not a complete concordance. purpose is to give people interested in Catholicism a quick reference for the most common items of the faith. Particularly in areas where Catholics and other religions disagree.
