With all due respect to your feelings and those of your chosen gentleman, those kind of comments are inappropriate and hurtful. They would be a deal-breaker for me before marriage and very, very saddening if already married. They are not, “just being male.”
I agree. My husband has never, ever said anything like that, when we were dating or after we were married. It disrespects not only the wife/fiance but the actress/singer.

I definitely do not want to use her just for guilt free sex by no means! I am just saying as a 27 yr old male, sexual purity is a tough thing to battle. And I know once I marry that battle will get off of my back (I mean for the most part since sex in marriage can be abused as well). Thanks everyone!
Back to the orignal post.

OP, I understand you don’t just want guilt free sex. However, I do NOT agree with your thinking. As humans we will always be tempted by sin and marriage will not change that. For example, once a man lives with his wife and sees all her negative traits, he can’t say ‘Well, I am going to go now call you in a few days’. You are stuck in the same house and need to live with it. So if some morning you have a fight with your wife and go to work and a pretty girl says, ‘I am going to the cafeteria can I get you anything?’ you may feel ‘more flattered than usual’ at her kindness and she may all of a sudden seem very interesting. So getting married is NO guarantee temptation will go away.

I often wonder when I say the Lord’s prayer and the verse comes up ‘lead us not into temptation’. In my logic, I would love to not sin, I ask God not to tempt me but I am a regular at confession  The only conclusion I can draw is as long as I am in this life, there will be temptation

By the way, the sins I confess have nothing to do with sex. They are other sins

EW. Are you serious?!?! That’s not silly or being male, that’s just disgusting. :tsktsk:
My girlfriend would slap me if I said something like that.
You guys are great ! I love it when men show woman respect 🙂

My FH has taught me alot about males. Stuff I didn’t necessarly learn from my 3 brothers.

We’ve been going out for nearly a year now, and it’s been wonderful. We both love eachother on a surface level and we both very much look forward to the wedding night (and many nights thereafter 😛 ). However, he also makes silly comments like how he’d like to have sex with an actress/singer/tv star. He’s not serious, just male.
When my dad was still living, he would joke about his ‘girlfriend’ Shania Twain and tease my mom that the guy at the grocery store who would put the bags in the car was her boyfriend. They had a strong marriage so I understand the joking.

However, my dads comments were more innocent. Kind of like a cartoon where you see hearts all Charlie Brown when he has a crush on a girl. He NEVER would have said anything sexual.

And I want to respectfully point out that it is NOT being just male. I think the reason you never learn this from your brothers is probably because they respected you.

Just curious but if you are watching the news with your boyfriend and they reported how much money Bill Gates earned last year, and you said ‘I would love to marry him’ Woudl your boyfriend laugh it off saying ‘It’s just being female’? In which case I would question his Catholic values

I am not trying to jump on the band wagon and criticise you, however, I do feel a need to speak up ‘it is NOT just being male’
